In the end of May 2021, we moved from Brooklyn NY to Tonasket WA.
From coast to coast, East to West.
We had cross country road trip on 2001 Toyota Camri.
2741miles, 9 days.
In the passenger seat, I did not fall asleep, but did singing, thinking and taking photos.
Here, those are film photos from the trip.

２０２１年５月末に、ニューヨーク州ブルックリンから、ワシントン州トナスケットに引越しました。
東から西へ、アメリカの端から端へ。
２００１年型の、古いトヨタカムリで大陸横断の旅に出ました。
４４１１キロ、９日間の旅。
助手席で居眠りもせず、おしゃべりもあまりせず、歌ったり、考えたり、写真を撮ったりしていました。
そのうちのフィルム写真の記録です。
旅に出るように、のんびり眺めてもらえたらうれしいです。

Day 1
5/31/21 Monday Memorial Day
Brooklyn, NY to Cleveland, OH
468miles/ 753km
Woke up 5:30, and the war started.
There were so many thing to do...
Cleaning, throwing stuff away, and packing car, and talking to the landlord lady.
Her daughter who Dan knows right after she was born couldn't understand the idea of us leaving...
She says that this is their home.
We managed to say good bye.
Bought coffee and bagels. (everything bagel and cream cheese)
Then off to the trip at 7:30.
Dan did not study the road enough, so we took Brooklyn bridge instead Manhattan bridge.
However, somehow, back to the original route.
It was so lucky that we left on the holiday.
The lower Manhattan would be a hell.
We didn't have time to be sentimental for leaving NY.
After tristate area, it supposed to be an easy one way.
But then we tried to step off at Lock Heaven, it was disaster.
And again, somehow, we were fine. Plus we got to see the beautiful part of Pennsylvania.
We had an agreement about that Dan is in charge of the driving and navigating, but
today I had to step in, and it worked fine.
It was 8 hours drive, and we made few detours and rest, so it was like 9.5 hours. 468mi. 753km.
We arrived at Cleveland 5:20pm. That's all we can take!
The whole trip is 2741 miles.
Japan's main land is 757 miles.
The diameter of the moon is 2158 miles.
I don't know if I can keep posting this diary on time especially after MN.
I'll try my best.
５時半に起きてすぐにうごきだす。
びっくりするくらい、やることが残っていた。
掃除、捨てるものがまだある、車に積み込みも。それから大家さんと話して。
大家さんの娘さん、わたしは話す前から、夫は生まれてすぐにあってそのままずっと知っているので、わたしたちがいなくなるということが、飲み込めないみたい。
いつ帰ってくる？家はここでしょ？って言っているらしい。
かなしい気持ちになりながら、でも笑ってさようなら。手紙書くからね。
最後、いつもいらないものを持って行ってた場所の管理人のおばさんとも話せてとてもよかった。本当に助かったーー。
近所のデリでベーグルとコーヒーを買って、７時半すぎに出る。
さて、うちの夫婦では、わたしはナビをしないという決まり事があるのだけど、夫は今回全く余裕がなく、前夜に１時間くらい予習しただけだった。
なので、もちろん最初から間違えた。夫は方向音痴だし、それでなくてもニューヨークのハイウェイはややこしい。そしてカムリにナビはついていない。
マンハッタンブリッジを渡るはずが、間違えてブルックリンブリッジを渡ってしまったのだ。なんとか元のルートに戻れたけど、これは今日が祝日だったから助かった部分が多かった。
チャイナタウンとか、平日の朝に迷ってたら死んじゃう。
そんなわけで全然感傷にひたる暇もなく、NYから出た。
悪名高いニュージャージターンパイクをなんとか超えて、さ、あとは一本道だと思ったものの、途中で休憩のために降りようとした街が（こちらのハイウェイはタダだったりすることも多く、出入りが容易にできる）まぁ、ややこしくて、えらい遠くまで外れてしまったのだけど、おかげで長閑なペンシルヴァニア州の様子を見られた。
知らなかったけれど、ペンシルヴァニアは山が多く、気づかないうちに結構高いところまで登っていた。
今日はそんなこんなでちょくちょくとわたしがナビをすることになったのだけど、なんとかうまくいった。
８時間のドライブ、それに迷った時間と、休憩とを入れたら９時間半くらい？ ７５３キロ。
クリーブランドについたのは５時すぎ。ああ、もうこれが最長だわ。これ以上座っていられない。最初はシカゴまで一気に行こうとしていたのが信じられない。
全行程は、２７４１マイル、４４１１キロ。
あんまりピンとこないけど、本州が１２１９キロ。月の直径が３４７４キロ。
うーん、遠い。
この日記、しばらくはホテルについてからの更新になります。
後半とついてからはwifiがどうなるか。できるときに書きますね。
Day 2
6/1/21 Tuesday
Cleveland, OH to Chicago, IL

Woke up 7:30.
Dan was wiped out last night, and slept deeply.
But I couldn't sleep that good.
Dan's sister was telling us to get food at "Nate's Deli" but they don't open at night,
so we decided to get them before we leave.
Dan got pastrami sandwich, and I got falafel plate and baba ganooj.
It was great, and we packed leftover, and left Cleveland.
As soon as we were on I-90, we heard some weird sound,
and it was my keys sticking out side!!
Omg.
We quickly stopped and it was fine, but crazy.
The road was really nice, not crowded, or too fast.
There were so many trucks, though.
We kept on 60 miles/hour.
Also it was so flat. Mostly running on country side. I got to see a lot of farming places.
If you replace it with rice paddies, it would be exactly same as Japanese country side.
We stopped around 3? to have a leftover lunch.
Avoiding the crowded rest space, we parked at the far end of the parking lot, and made pita sandwiches.
That was really nice.
Getting close to Illinois, the atmosphere changed a lot.
We passed the industry town, and cross the big bridge then we could already see the Chicago and Lake Michigan.
Wow.
It was great!!
Then Dan took off from I-90 way early, so we needed to drive through little traffic.
But finally, we made it to the hotel!!
346 miles, 6 hours drive and plus.
７時半に起きた。
夫はもう完全にノックアウトで、ぐっすり眠っていたけれど、わたしはあまり熟睡できず。
夫の妹が一押しの、ネイツというデリでご飯を買っていくことに。
電話でオーダーして取りに行った。
パストラミサンドイッチ、ファラフェルのプレート、ババガヌージ。
この、ババガヌージがめちゃくちゃおいしかった。ナスのペーストにタヒニとレモンジュース。
でも全然食べきれず、残りをパックして１２時に出発。
高速に乗ってすぐに、なんか音がする？と気づいて、外を見たら、わたしの鍵がぶら下がったままだった！！！
ひー。
安全なところで停めて、なんとかなったけど、こんな失敗初めて。
夫はとてもよろこんでいた。
今日の道は混んでないし、そんなに飛ばす人もいないしでのんびりなんだけど、
やたらとトラックが多い！
２００台は見た。
時速６０マイル（９５キロくらい）をキープしていたので、どんどん抜かしてもらう。
それから昨日と違うのはずっと平地だということ。
映画に出てきそうな、大きな納屋とか、水道塔？とか。
のんびりしていてとてもよかった。
広大な畑が水田だったら、日本の田舎と変わらないと思う。家がぽつぽつあって、
林もポツポツあって。
３時過ぎ？に止まって、残りのファラフェルでピタサンドを作って食べた。
休憩所から離れたところに停めて、外で食べる。
おいしいな〜。
インディアナを抜けて、イリノイ州に入る前あたりで雰囲気がガラッと変わる。
工業地帯みたいになって、大きな建物が続き、橋を渡ったらシカゴが見えた。
わー、来たきた！
ミシガン湖、これはもう海。でっか！
今日は高速道路の料金もしっかり取られた。都会なのね。
夫がすごい手前で降りたので、シカゴの渋滞に少しハマったけれど、なんとかホテルにたどり着いた。
５５６キロ。６時間のはずが、まぁ７時間くらい。
あ、イリノイ州で違うタイムゾーンに入りました。
日本との時差がどんどん開いていく〜
Day 3
6/2/21 Wednesday
Chicago, IL to Wayzata, MN

Woke up 5:30.
We went to the lake for a longer walk.
The sun was already up and so strong!! I guess this is real Chicago,
Walk by the lake, and went to get coffee.
I had cappuccino for the first time in pandemic, and it was amazing.
Then the toilet was clogged... We had to wait for a guy to fix it.
After that, I took a hot bath, it was amazing, I missed it so much.
We left the room at 11, and the hard day started.
First of all, there was a line to check out.
Then we made mistake from the self parking, I made a mistake on the highway.
At the first rest spot after entering Wisconsin,, Dan got so frustrated, we stop talking for a while.
It was a bad start.
We stopped at the middle of nowhere.
The store had "second amendment" hat and "gun" hat... yikes
My hair is crazy, (half shaved and big ban on top) and I'm an asian, but Dan is white,
so people stared at us. I don't care.
We also saw a lot of Trump sign and some crazy stuff.
Other than that, the road was almost flat, not crowded, and farmlands were beautiful.
At some point, the side mirror almost came off, and Dan had to drive while holding it.
So we stopped at a random place, Wei's Chinese Restaurant's parking lot,
and replaced it with a new one.
haha, that was great adventure.
From there, it was still a long straight way, and the cloud was beautiful, and showered little bit.
There were again, a lot of dead deer, and sure enough, we saw a young deer trying to cross.
So Dan beeped, and scared it away. Phew.
Finally we made it to Minnesota, and checked in around 8:30pm.
Dan's sister visited shortly. A family reunion, finally!
５時半に起きた。
またミシガン湖の湖岸を歩きにいく。
昨日と違って、照り返す日差しの強いこと！ああ、こっちが本来のシカゴなのか。
折り返しは街中を通って、ホテルの下でコーヒーとペイストリーを買っていく。
すごく久しぶりのカプチーノはとってもおいしかった。よろこんでいたら夫がお代わり買ってきてくれた。
その後トイレが詰まって直してもらうハプニングがあったものの、
半身浴ができてものすごく楽になった。あー、これこれ。
１１時過ぎに出たのだけど、チェックアウトの列ができていて、ここでかなり時間を取られる。
今日は、その後がハプニング続きだった。
まず駐車場を出たところで道に迷う。高速に乗ってすぐの分かれ道でわたしが間違う。少し長めのルートになってしまった。
ウィスコンシンに入ってすぐの休憩所で水を買うときに夫の機嫌が悪くなる。
この後しばらく話さなかった。
わたしは人の機嫌を直す気はさらさらないのでいつもほっておく。
だいぶ行ってから、すごいポツンとしたところで休憩して、夫も元に戻る。
田舎のコンビニみたいなところに、セカンドアメンダメント（武装する権利を認めた憲章、銃を手放したくない人が理由に使う）のキャップや、まんま銃の絵のキャップがあって、ひーってなる。
追い越す車にジロジロ見られたり。
まぁこの、ツーブロックにお団子の髪型だから、予想通り。
というか、このためにこの髪型にした部分も少しある。
道沿いにすごいサインが色々ある。トランプや選挙のはもちろん、宗教系、それから中絶反対のもの。あと、巨大な、異様に巨大な国旗。
ウィシコンシン、怖い。
でも道そのものや風景は平和だった。いや、それがまたかえって怖いかも。
それから！サイドミラーの鏡部分がずるずるっと落ちてきて、夫が運転しながら！片手で押さえて直したのだけど、３度目でついに危なくなって、とりあえず見つけたチャイニーズレストランの駐車場で修理する。
というか、前から壊れていたので、替のものを用意していたのだった。付け替える。
古い車だから何かあるだろうとは思ってたけど、まぁワイルドでおもしろかった。
そのあとは平穏に、真っ直ぐな道を行く。雲がものすごく綺麗で感動する。
雲の下を通るときに雨がさぁっと降った。
西へいくのは、天竺へ向かうのだとおもう。
今日もすごくたくさんの鹿の死体をみたのだけど、ついに生きてる鹿が渡ろうと伺っているのに遭遇した。
クラクションを鳴らしたら驚いて戻って行ったけど。
うーん、なんとかできないのかな。
ミネソタ州に入ってからすぐにミネアポリス、その外れにあるホテルに着く。
８時半くらいになっていた。
あー疲れた。
遅いのに、夫の妹が会いにきてくれる。数年ぶりに会えてうれしい！
Day 4
6/3/21 Thursday
Wayzata, MN

Woke up 8:30? We were so tired.
Took shower, and changed, we went to get coffee.
There was this coffee shop we were told to go,
but it was full of big white people, so we instead we found this tiny one,
and it was really great.
The pastry was amazing. Everything croissants, and donut hole.
This is a town for upper middle class people.
And also many blond and tall people.
I was told that that is because. there were many Northern European people came here first.
We decided to stay here one more night.
Then we went to this discount tire to check the car.
On the way, we missed the exit, and lost, but it was really the road sign wasn't nice.
Anyway, we made it there, and they found out the tire's air pressure was way off.
Also. we did the self car washing. That. was fun.
Back to the hotel.
Dan's sister and one child came to visit us.
We went to the super market to get some groceries.
Then we followed their car to their home.
We walk around their yard, played with their pets.
Then started cooking the dinner together.
Hamburger, salad, and grilled chicken.
Cooked outside oven, and it was really good.
After dinner, we chatted a long time, but I was so tired, so we left their home and back to the hotel.
I'm really glad that we will have one more night here!
８時半に起きたかな？
すごい疲れていた。
シャワーを浴びたり色々してから、遅めの朝ごはんを探しにいく。
おいしいと教えられた場所は、大きな白人の人たちでいっぱいだったのでパス。
代わりに見つけた小さなベイカリーがものすごく当たりだった。
甘くない、ゴマとか色々乗っているクロワッサン 。
ここは、上の中流家庭のひとたちが遊びに来るところらしい。不思議な雰囲気。お金の雰囲気？
あと、ブロンドで、背の高い人たちが多いのは、北ヨーロッパの人が最初たくさんここに来たからだそう。
すごくおじいさんなのにデカくてびっくりした。
全然疲れがとれないから、明日も一泊することにした。
それから車のチェックに行く。タイヤは新しいのに、揺れるのが気になって。
ここへ行く途中、また少し迷った。ちゃんと正しい出口を出たのに、これは標識が親切でない。
とにかくついて、見てもらう。タイヤの空気圧と重さ？がめちゃくちゃだったとのこと。
それから洗車もした。自動で洗ってくれる機械の中に入るタイプ。
今はブラシやモップじゃなくて、水圧で洗うらしい。おもしろかったー。
ホテルに戻る。
夫の妹と姪がきてくれる。
一緒に夜ご飯の買い物をする。
彼らのおうちまで、車の後をついていく。
裏庭を歩いたり、二匹の犬（サツキとメイ）と猫（ミン）と遊んだり。
それからみんなで料理する。
ハンバーガーとサラダに、グリルドチキン。
外にある大きなバーナーで焼く。おいしかった。
その後もずーっと喋ってたけど、わたしはもう疲れてたので、９時半ごろにはお暇する。
またホテルまで先導して送ってくれた。
その後すぐ寝たと思う。
もう一泊することにして本当よかった！
Day 5
6/4/21 Friday
Wayzata, MN

Woke up 7:30. Took shower, and hand-washed some socks and underwear.
We left 9 am and got coffee and same pastry as yesterday.
The lady there remembered us and told her colleagues about us. They were so nice.
We arrived at the Meineke for them to check the alignment.
While waiting under the tree outside, it's getting so hot.
The heat wave is coming.
Then their machine got broken so we had to contact the other location.
The appointment was 1pm, so we went back to the hotel and had some rest.
We left 12:40, and got this one in Burnsville around 1:20.
This time they could do the work, and the problem is seems got improved.
So we came back to the hotel, picked some lunch on the way.
In the room, we made a plan for the rest of the trip.
Because of the heat wave, we decided to take an easy day tomorrow.
It'll be 4 more days of driving. Hopefully.
We have to rest up and be prepared for the rest of the trip!!
７時半に起きる。シャワーを浴びて、靴下と下着を手洗いする。
９時に出て、昨日と同じところで同じクロワッサンを買った。
お姉さんが覚えてくれてて、もし出発までにもう会わなかったら、良い旅を！と言ってくれる。
Meineke（ドイツ語らしい、読めない）というチェーンの車屋さんに半には到着。
タイヤの調整をしてもらう。
作業の間、外の木陰で待ってたけど、暑い！
熱波が来ているらしい。３８度。
でもNYよりもさらに湿度が低く、カラッとしている。これは楽かも。
そしたらタイヤの調整に使う機械が壊れちゃったとのことで、もう一つの店舗に電話する。
改めてとった予約は１時半。一旦かえって休む。
次は１２時４０分に出発。バーンズヴィルのMeinekeに１時２０分についた。
今回は調整ができて、ハンドルがみぎに取られるトラブルも少しマシになった感じ。
ホテルに戻って、近くで簡単なお昼を買っていく。
ご飯の後、ここから先の予定を立てる。
明日もまた３９度とかだから、明日は早く出て短い日にするつもり。
後４日で到着する、たぶん。
さぁ、ここからが、もう本当の田舎だから、今日は休んで準備を整えます。
Day 6
6/ 5/21 Saturday
Wayzata, MN to Fargo, ND

Woke up 6:30, and started packing and took shower.
Dan's sister came to visit, and we had coffee and croissants together.
We packed up the car, checked out.
And said goodbye. It's always hard.
Off we go!
We took I-94W to North Dakota.
Stopped for gas.
Then we had to go to bathroom so we took a detour to a small town called Ashby.
There was a senior house which was open, but empty.
We took turn and ran away quickly.
It was the weirdest place I've ever been.
A rain cloud passes us (or opposite) and here's the heat.
It quickly became so hot.
It was good idea to stop at around 2pm.
We are staying at Fargo. The famous town.
We settled, and brought the plants into the room.
Then went to a drive through, got taco bell.
After that, I slept like a baby.
The heat is really making me tired.
Tomorrow, we cross North Dakota!
６時半に起きて、パッキングとシャワー。
夫の妹が来てくれて、コーヒーとクロワッサン食べておしゃべり。
車に詰め込んでからチェックアウト。
それからさようなら。いつでもさみしくなる。
西へ。
今日はI-94Wでノースダコタまで。
途中でガソリンを入れる。
その後、何もないところでトイレにいきたくなり、降りたアシュビーという町で、シニアセンターを見つけて入る。
開いてるのに、誰もいなくて、誰かのつくったいろんなものがあって、とりあえず怖い。ハロー、と言いながら交代でさっとトイレを借りた。
今まで行った中で一番怖かった。
雨雲が過ぎて行ったり（わたしたちが下を通り過ぎたのか）、雷を見たりしながら、すっきり晴れてきたなーと思ったら間もなくあっつい。
わたしたちが、というより車が心配になる暑さ。
ファーゴというところに２時に到着。
そうです、あのファーゴです。
チェックインして、苗も部屋へ避難。
タコベルのドライブスルーでお昼をゲット。
それからもうぐっすり眠った。
どうも急な暑さに弱い。
明日はノースダコタを横断します！
マッドマックスなところらしいので楽しみ。
Day 7
6/ 6/21 Sunday
Fargo, ND to Miles City, MT
459miles/ 738km
Woke up before 7, and packing up, had coffee, and left before 9.
We both had a bad reaction from Taco Bell. Oops.
So basically, we crossed North Dakota on I-94W.
It was plain and nothing in the beginning.
And I realized the trees are already different.
More like Christmas tree and also dry.
We had a dust storm too.
It was not as hot as yesterday, but so windy.
North Dakota was not that bad as I was told, but it's just nothing to see there.
Those bikers who rode with huge American frag without helmet was most "Mad max" we saw.
Then right before we leached to Montana, we were crossing over Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
It's called the painted canyon.
It looked like Grand Canyon, but more colorful.
After that, there is completely nothing.
I mean the nothingness went to the next level.
We managed to get to the hotel in Miles City, MN around 3:30.
It was better than we thought.
We settled down and went to a bar and had some drink.
A big day tomorrow!
７時前に起きて、荷物を詰め、コーヒーと果物だけ食べて、９時前に出発。
昨日のタコベルがやっぱりよくなかった、お腹がゆるい。
今日はI-94をひたすら通って、ノースダコタ州を横断。
平くって、なんにもない。
木が少し変わったなー。もみの木みたいなのが出てきたのと、白樺？みたいのと、なんていうか銀色？の小さい木。北に来たなぁという感じがする。
と、思っていたら、急に木立が減って、乾いた感じになる。霧かと思ったら、乾いた土の埃だったり。
昨日よりは暑くないけど、かなりの風。何もないから余計に強く感じる。
ノースダコタはやばい、マッドマックスだと聞いていたけど、そんなにだった。ただ、本当に何もない。
ヘルメットなしで、強風をものともせず、星条旗をはためかせて高速でぶっとばすバイカーたちが、いちばんマッドマックスだった。
それからモンタナとの州境を越す手前で、セオドア・ルーズベルトナショナルパークというのを通る。
どんなんかな、と思ったら、いきなりグランドキャニオンみたいな、すごい谷が出てきて、しかもカラフルなのだった。びっくり！
Painted Canyonという名前がぴったり。赤から茶色、白まで、いろんな色で、ものすごく綺麗だった。
写真ではとても写しきれない。
その後が、もう本当になーんにもない。ノースダコタと比べてもさらに何もない。
地平線の先までないのだから、なんというか、言葉を失ってしまう。
モンタナ州に入ってすぐの、マイルズシティというところまでたどり着いて、今日は終わり。小さいホテルだったけど思ってたよりよかった。落ち着いてから、すぐ横のバーに行った。
明日がまた大変だー。モンタナを横断します！
Day 8
6/ 7/21 Monday
Miles City, MT to Missoula, MT
491miles/ 790km
Woke up 6, and packing and cleaned up the room and left around 7:40.
The openness is insane.
I feel something about me fundamentally changed.
You cannot see anything to the horizon and beyond.
And it continues several 100 km.
We stopped at this little town Hysham to take a bathroom break.
It was sunny and beautiful all the way.
Not hot, not cold.
We could see the Rocky Mountains and the snow and it scared us.
We knew that we don't need to climb up, but then also we knew we had to do some of it.
It turned out that we went through some up and downs right before Butte.
Camry was great! But driving in the mountain is tiresome.
We arrived at Missoula Montana around 3:30. Phew. That's as much as we can take.
One more day!!!!
６時に起きて片付け、パッキング。
７時４０分には出発した。
とにかく、なにもなさがすごい。
なんだか、じぶんの中の大きな部分が変わったように感じる。
地平線の向こうまで何もない、そんな景色がずーっと何百キロも続くのだからすごい。
ハイシャムかな？小さな小さな街に下りてトイレ休憩。
すごく晴れていて気持ちがいい。
暑くも寒くもない。
ロッキーマウンテンの雪が見えてくる、
え、あれ通らないよね？？とビビる。
富士山が連なってるみたい。
少しは山を通ると聞いてたけれど。
結局、半分行ったところで山道をしっかり通った。
急カーブではないけれど、高スピードでうねった道を行くのは結構疲れるなぁ。
カムリ、がんばった。
３時半にミズーラに着く。まだモンタナ！
はー、今日は疲れた。
そして、明日でついに到着！なのだけど、ネットがどうなるか。
書けるときに書きますね〜！
Day 9
6/ 8/21 Tuesday
Missoula, MT to Tonasket, WA
357miles/ 574km
Woke up 6. Packed up and left 8 am.
The road was again with nothing on the both side.
Then as soon as we got to Idaho, it got so mountainy...!
Everyone is going on 80 miles/hour, even with switch backs...
"Welcome to Idaho" sign has a lot of bullet wholes. Omg.
Stopped at Spokane Washington, as we thought Chase bank there was the nearest to us.
(But later we found out that there's another one much nearer to us.)
After there, the road became one lane, and so peaceful.
It was like a total different country.
I really loved the scenery very much.
Into Okanogan County, the road got mountains again.
It made us nervous. That fact that our cross country trip will end today, and also that our new life will start.
Right after the long signal sign, we finally made it to Tonasket.
The house and tree were all there.
So surreal.
We checked everything, and Dan's friend came over.
We talked everything, and then after while we went to the town.
Found co-op, it was so great. If you pay $50, you are member for life.
Bought some food, and back to the property, and ate outside.
He rented us RV, so we set it up, and then went his house to have dinner with his family.
Wow.
What a day.
End and new chapter of our life.
６時に起きる。
さっと詰め込んで、８時ちょうどに出発。
出た瞬間、道の両脇は何もなかった。やっぱりモンタナすごいな〜。
でもアイダホに入った瞬間、山！！
すごかった。
みんな１２０キロくらいで走るし、そこまで急ではないものの、カーブは続くしで。
アイダホに入った瞬間に標識があったのだけど、銃痕で穴ぼこだらけだった。
みんなピストルで打つらしい。山の頂上で、スピード出しながら？！わー、なんてこった。
ワシントン州に入って、スポケーンというところで一旦止まる。
一番近い銀行の支店がここだったので、寄っていくことに。
でも後で、もっともっと近くにあることが分かったのだけど。
その後は州間高速から下りて、州道になる。
１レーンののどかな道。
どこまでも続いていく畑が両側に続いていて、夢かな？って思った。
すごく好きだった。
オカノガン郡に入ってすぐ道がまた山になる。
なんだか昨日から緊張している。
今日で本当にこの旅が終わるんだ、ということと、
新しい生活が始まるんだということがあまりうまくのみこめない。
無事に着くことばかり考えてたから。
この旅で全然音楽を聞かなかった。少し歌ったり話したりしたけど、基本的にそれぞれ考えごとをしていた。
最後の最後で、工事をしていて長い信号に捕まる。
それを超えたら、ついにトナスケット。
ついた！
家も、木もある。
嘘みたい。
いろいろチェックしてから、夫の友達に連絡する。
来てくれて、いろいろ話した後、ちょっと町を見に行く。
コープがある。
５０ドルで一生メンバーになれて、いろいろディスカウントがあるとのことで、
オーガニックのものもたくさん揃っていてとてもいい感じ。
サンドイッチなど少し買って、お庭で食べた。
その後夫の友達が、キャンピングカーを持ってきてくれる。
家が直るまでここで生活する。
おうちにお呼ばれしてご飯。
わぁ、なんて日かしら。
