red currant jam

This was the second year since I planted this bush tree, and here is the first ever red currant harvest!
Though it was not enough to make it to jam with itself, I added sour cherry, sweet cherry, red grapes.
I also am waiting for white currant and golden currant.
They are tart, but beautiful half translucent berries are gorgeous addition to the garden.

レッドカラント、すぐりとか、カシスとか呼ばれるベリー。
植えて2年目、たくさん実がなったけれど、単体でジャムにできるほどでもない。
サワーチェリー、もらった甘いチェリー、種無しグレープと混ぜてきれいな赤いジャムをつくり、小さな小瓶につめた。
あと、ホワイトカラント、ゴールデンカラントもあるけれど、まだ熟れていない様子。
苦味と酸味があって、すごくおいしい！というわけではないけれど、
半透明の実は、ザクロの実に似ていてとても魅力的。
