It was still thunderstorm when we woke up.
But it finally stopped by the time I went outside.
Coffee, oatmeal.
Dan was busy today.
While we are saying goodbyes, I caught that something is moving in the fence...
It was a deer!
When I got close saying how did you get inside?
It ducked under the bar and went away.
I think it was a baby deer.
There is not much left inside, and I don’t really mind, but surprised.
I made yellow tomato sauce.
Used more tomato than last time, but it turned into less sauce. hmm.
Then picked all ripened cherry tomatoes.
While I was cleaning them, Dan came home.
He made avocado toast for lunch.
I made cherry tomato jam.
Cooked with butter and sugar, but I cut the sugar in half...
If it won’t last long, I will freeze them.
5 cups of tomato turned to 2 cups of jam.
3 small jars.
Joe came, Dan went out for another meeting,
Saige came and go, it was busy for while and back to quiet.
I stayed in kitchen whole day working on preserving food,
but also made news letter.

I made pasta using new tomato sauce with onion, garlic, pepper, and ham.
It was really good.
As we need to wake up early, we tried to go to sleep early, but took us while.
朝起きても雷雨。わお。
でも外に出る頃までには止んだ。
コーヒー、オートミール。
今日は夫がいろいろ予定が詰まっている日。
朝、出かけるときに見送っていたら、お庭の柵の中でなにか大きなものが動いているのが見えた。
え！と近づいてみると、シカだった。
どうやってはいったん？と声をかけたら柵の一番下の段をくぐって出て行った。
ツノの生えてない小柄なシカだったから子供かもしれない。
柵の中に残っているのはチェリートマトくらいなので、食べるものももうないのに。
気を取り直して、今日はイエロートマトをソースにする。
前回よりもトマトの量は多いのに、できた量は同じか少し少ないくらい？うーん。
それから外に出て、チェリートマトもできるだけ摘んでしまう。
5カップくらい採れた。
ヘタを取っている時に夫がいったん帰宅。
アボカドトースト、目玉焼きをつくってくれて一緒にお昼ご飯。
チェリートマトでジャムをつくる。
バターで炒めて砂糖を入れて煮詰めるのだけれど、
砂糖が多すぎるレシピだったので半分以下に。
保存期間に影響するかもしれないけれど、そうだとしたら冷凍しよう。
2カップ以下まで減ったけれど、きれいなオレンジのジャムができた。
小さな瓶に3つ分。
ジャムが完成する前にジョーが来て、夫がでかけていって、
セージも来て、ばたばたしていたけれど、また静かになった。
今日は台所でずっと作業していたけれど、横でお庭のニュースレターもつくった。

夜ご飯はできたばかりのソースにタマネギ、ニンニク、ペッパー、ハムを足してパスタに。
おいしくできた～。
明日は早くでかけるので早めに寝ようとするけれど、
そうすると眠れない不思議。
