Today is Serena’s birthday.
One of my dear friends.
I woke up late and had coffee.
Then I watered the garden.
It’s cool enough that I don’t need to water early morning.
Dan made pancake, and we ate it with apple, pear, and blueberries.
Those blueberries are packed in small plastic container and sold at Starbucks.
We set aside few of each fruits and gave it to Debbie.
I sow clover seeds here and there.
Some of patch were dried out. Oops.
I need to water them carefully.
The women’s final was today.
Coco was not doing great in the first set, but she clearly adjusted by the second.
Then she improved a lot.
Wow, she’s still 19.
Dan made quesadillas and we ate while watching tennis.
We had short nap.
And I finished the data of the merch.
In the evening, we sit on the porch and watched quails flying and walking around.
They were very talkative.
We sow clover seeds together and picked tomatoes together.
We used my skirt to catch small tomatoes.
Those small ones are very powerful, Dan made salad out of it.
White vinegar, Parmesan cheese, and Thai basil.
Then he made great carbonara.
He cooked three times today.
We watched “A League of Their Own.”
It was fun, but so much sexism.
I wonder how is the remake version of this.
今日はセレナの誕生日。
来年には、わたしがアメリカに来た時の歳になるというのが信じられない。
常にやり取りしているわけじゃないけれど、大切な友人。
ゆっくり起きてコーヒー。
それからやっと水やり。
もう急いで水やりをしなくても大丈夫。
夫がパンケーキを焼いてくれて、美味しい青リンゴとナシと一緒に食べる。
ブルーベリーも。
スターバックスで売っている、小分けされたブルーベリーが仕事先に寄付されていたのでもらって来たのだった。
リンゴ、モモ、ナシ、ブルーベリーをデビーにお裾分け。
クローバーの種をあちこちに。
水が切れて枯れてしまったところもある。
しばらく気をつけて見ていよう。
午後は女子テニスの決勝戦。
ココ・ガルフ、出だしは押され気味だったけれど、
途中で相手のテニスに慣れたことがはっきりわかるくらい格段によくなった。
2、3セット目を取って優勝。
19歳！すごいな～。
試合を見ながら夫が作ってくれたケーサディーヤを食べた。
少しお昼寝。
そのあと、パソコン仕事の追い込み。
グッズをつくっているのだけど、入稿用のデータを作るときはいつも緊張する。
集中して完成させる。
夕方、夫とポーチに座って、大きなブルースプルースの木にウズラの群れがいるのを下から見上げた。
夕陽が当たってとてもきれい。
一緒にクローバーの種を蒔いて、それからトマトを収穫した。
夫がわたしのスカートを広げて裾を持ち、わたしがプチトマトを摘んでいく。
黄色いプチトマトはとても味が濃くて、そのままサラダにした。
ホワイトビネガー、パルメザンチーズをかけて、タイバジルを載せて。
夜は夫がカルボナーラをつくってくれた。
とっても美味しい。
そんなにお腹空いていないから少しで、と言ったけれど、少しおかわりしちゃったくらい美味しい。
今日は3食とも夫がつくってくれた。
夜、“A League of Their Own”を見る。
92年の映画で、第二次世界大戦時に女性を集めてつくった野球リーグの話。
マドンナが選手の1人を演じている。
最近リメイクされてテレビシリーズになっていたので気になっていた。
なかなかおもしろかったけれど、セクシズムがひどいね、と夫が言う。
でも当時の現実よりは良いように描かれていると思うよ、と答えた。
リメイクの方ではどう描かれているのかな。
ファッションがとても好きだった。
