Sunday.
We woke up late.
After having coffee and get ready to go out,
Dan bought me cappuccino and muffins.
He remembered that I said I feel tired and weak, and also I love coffee.
Those small things counts.
I decided to take down tomato plants.
It will be cold and raining from tomorrow.
So I harvested last green tomatoes and put them with apple.
Then I removed bamboo sticks and cut down plants.
I cleaned the furrows and sow winter wheat and clover.
This last one took time.
Dan was talking to his friend over phone and making fried tomatoes.
He also made bacon and leftover Thai food.
While we were eating lunch, they came to tow the cars.
There was this chubby guy in red shirt and blue overall, and looked like he knows what to do.
We called him Mario.
After one hour, they towed two old car somewhere.
We took nap, and Dan iced his leg.
I woke up and went outside to continue working on the tomato patch.
They came back and now working on trucks.
Finishing 2 rows takes me 1 hour.
After 2 hours, I finally finished.
They were still working.
I made dinner with my last eggplants.
I cooked them with sweet pepper and miso, soy sauce, and maple syrup.
We put them over rice and ate it.
When we finished dinner and rested, they finally finished and gone.
There is one truck left.
It was almost dark.
Mario worked hard today.
Dan was icing his leg again.
The blues is coming down.
日曜日。
たっぷり寝て起きる。
コーヒーを飲んで、外へ出ようとしたら、
夫がカプチーノとマフィンを買って来てくれた。
最近体がだるいと言ったこと、カプチーノを飲んでいたことを覚えていてくれた。
わたしが喜ぶ小さなことを覚えていて、実行してくれる。
それは愛だなと思う。
明日からしばらく雨と気温も下がるので、トマトはもう片付けてしまうことにした。
最後に残った青いトマトを収穫し、リンゴと一緒に置いておく。
竹の支えを外して、茎を切ってそのままマルチにする。
空いた畝をきれいにして、冬小麦とクローバーを撒いていく。
この最後の作業が意外と時間がかかった。
いったん休憩。
夫は友達と電話しながら、フライドトマトで昼食を作ってくれていた。
ベーコン、昨日の残りのタイ料理も。
と、トラックが2台来て、車を牽引するための作業をしていた。
昨日の2人に加えて、小太りのおじさんが一生懸命作業していた。
赤いシャツにヒッコリーのオーバーオールで、マリオみたい！
マリオは大活躍したものの、古い車を牽引するのはなかなか大変みたい。
1時間くらいしてようやくまず2台の普通車をどこかへ引いていった。
トラックが3台残っている。
ほっとしてお昼寝。
夫は脚を冷やしていた。
わたしは途中で起き上がって、畑仕事の続き。
ふた畝仕上げるのにちょうど1時間かかる。
わたしが作業を再開するのと同時にマリオたちも戻ってきて、2時間後にわたしが終えてもまだ色々やっていた。
わたしはそのまま晩御飯を作る。
これで最後になるだろう、小ぶりのナスを6個ほどと、ピーマンを3つ、味噌で炒め煮にして、ご飯にかける。
トマトとキュウリも添えて。
食べ終わって一服していたらようやく牽引していった。
トラックだったから余計大変だったのかな。
あとトラックが1台残っている。
マリオ、大活躍の1日だった。
夫はまた脚を冷やしていた。
だんだんまた青あざの位置が変わってきた。
早く治りますように。
