Friday is off work, but Dan went there to finish things that he started.
Coffee, peach and yogurt.
I washed bath mat and went outside.
It seemed like deer ate one of butternut squash.
So I decided to harvest them.
It was getting close anyway.
I washed them, wiped with alcohol.
Then put them with other pumpkins on the deck.
Some of them are almost done curing.
Now I can bring them inside.
I sow oats and peas after the squash.
Also I sow spinach here and there.
It was cloudy, but with sun, it was almost hot.
Dan came home before noon.
He cooked steak, roasted potato and onion.
Then he took long nap.
I couldn’t sleep, so I started knitting.
Cotton knit cap for my niece.
Originally I was thinking to make her socks, but as they live in San Diego,
I doubt that kids wear fluffy socks there.
We went to shopping in the evening and had coffee again.
Watched Mets’ game from 6:30pm.
They are here in the West coast.
I decided to cook zucchini with bacon, but Dan took over and roasted them in the oven.
He put Parmesan cheese on top.
We ate that with bacon bits, and it was soooo good.
It was like we went to Japanese pub Izakaya.
So we did put other stuff on the individual plates like we eat at Izakaya.
So much fun.
We watched “Reservation Dogs”
It was so powerful.
Feeling your ancestors is important.
金曜日は基本的にはお休みの日なのだけれど、
少し残っている仕事をしに出かけて行った。
コーヒー。モモとヨーグルト。
バスマットを洗って、お庭に出ると、バターナッツスクワッシュのひとつがシカに食べられていた。
興味ないと思っていたのに。
もうそろそろ収穫時だったし、5つほど収穫してしまう。
洗って、アルコールで拭き取って、軒下で乾燥させる。
先に乾燥させていたカボチャはヘタがからからになってきている。
こうなったら後は室内で保存できる。
収穫した後はムギとマメのカバークロップを撒いておく。
ついでにホウレンソウの種をあちこちに。
曇っているけれど、日差しが出ると暑いくらい。
お昼前に夫帰宅。
ステーキ肉を焼いて、ポテトやタマネギをローストして、お昼ご飯をつくってくれた。
夫は食後からお昼寝。
わたしは眠れなくて、編み物をしたりしていた。
姪に靴下を編もうかと思ったけれど、暖かい場所に住んでいるから、コットンと竹の糸のニットキャップにする。
会いにいけないうちにすっかり大きくなっているみたい。
夕方ふたりで買い出し。
コーヒーをもう一杯。
夜はメッツが西海岸に来ているので、ゆっくりゲームを見れた。
思い立って、ズッキーニをベーコンと炒めようとしたら、
夫がオーブンで焼こう！と言ってやってくれた。
スライスしてパルメザンチーズを載せたものを焼いて、それとは別にカリカリに焼いたベーコンを細かく切ったものを載せて食べる。
柔らかくなったズッキーニでベーコンを包むようにして。
これがめちゃくちゃおいしかった。居酒屋ででてきそうな一品。
調子に乗って、他にも居酒屋風にして食べた。
お昼の残りのステーキやキムチなんかを、それらしく盛り付けしただけだけど。
ご飯炊いてなくてごめん、と夫が言うので、居酒屋では最後までお米を食べないんだよと説明した。
夜は"Reservation Dogs"を見る。すごい回だった。
救われたくない人を救うことはできない。
あなたに連なるたくさんの祖先がちゃんと見守っているから大丈夫。
たくさんのユーモアとともに強いメッセージが込められているドラマだな。
