I woke up at 6 am.
The sunrise is 6:15am.
Dan was planning to wake up at the same time with me,
little later he woke up and started moving.
I harvested lots of tomatoes.
Toast and coffee.
I pruned apricot tree.
Then I dug compost from this spring,
and started digging next hole.
Dan was working on the window and wall outside.
He made BLT sandwich for lunch.
We were talking about contacting Norna, and she called us!
Dan asked her if she wants tomatoes, but her tomatoes are ready to eat.
So I picked pumpkin, cucumber, and peppers.
We met Norna on the street and exchanged.
Then we went to Jerry’s house to ask if they want tomatoes.
But their tomatoes are also ready.
I love this life.
I watched Serena’s third round.
It was very close game and went to third set.
Both of them were so determined.
It was great game.
Three years ago? when we watched Serena and Naomi,
it was painful, but this time it felt so much better.
Dan couldn’t watch and went for running.
An end of one generation.
I made ramen for dinner.
With kale, tomato, and bacon.
It was little humid and hot.
The last summer night.
6時に起きて水やり。日の出は6時15分。
どんどん日が短くなっている。
今日は一緒に起きる！と言っていた夫、すこし遅れて起床。
トマトを収穫。
トーストとコーヒー。
アプリコットの剪定。
今年の春のコンポストを掘り返して、
次のコンポストを掘り始める。
夫は外壁、とくに窓周りの仕上げなど。
お昼は夫がBLTをつくってくれた。
そろそろ卵がほしいね、ノーナさんに連絡してみる？と話してたら、なんとノーナさんから連絡してくださった。
トマトたくさんあるけれどいりますか？と聞くと、うちにもあるとのこと。
代わりにカボチャ、キュウリ、グリーンペッパーを持っていく。
ちょうど中間地点で会って交換。
それから二軒向こうのジェリーさん家にトマトを持っていったけれど、
ここもトマトがいまたくさんあるとのこと。
おとぎ話のような日々。
夕方はセリーナの第3戦。
すごい接戦で3セット目まで行ったけれど、そして最後まで粘ったけれど負けてしまった。
でもとてもいい試合だった。お互いぜんぜん諦めない。
3年前？の大坂なおみ選手との試合は見ていて苦しかったけれど、
今回の試合はとても素直に楽しめた。
相手も冷静ですばらしかった。
夫は見てられなくて、最後の方で走りに行っていた。
ひとつの時代が終わった感覚。
夜ご飯はラーメン。
ケール、トマト、ベーコン入り。
湿気が少し高くて、夏っぽい夜。
これで最後かなと思う。
