yuko's diary 9/13/26

Sunday.

It has been raining since last night.

I thought it’d stop in the morning, but it didn’t.

It was chilly morning.

We overslept a lot and woke up before noon.

I started sourdough.

Dan made eggs and toast.

He usually has a better egg in second try, but today he made a perfect one for the first try.

It had big round whites and perfect two yellow eyes.

He made lunch too.

Salmon, tomato salad, and boiled potato.

Simple and good.

We both like salmon.

I cleaned the house, and worked on lavender in the afternoon.

It’s been few months since I harvested them.

Now it’s completely dry and easily came off from the stem.

Everything smells great.

Dan helped me and we worked on it while listening to music.

Perfect work for rainy day.

We ate leftover for dinner.

I made boiled potato into potato salad with my fermented cucumber.

It was really good.

Then we took a nap.

Dan had a haircut.

And we did stretching.

We didn’t stay up late, but didn’t go to bed early either.

日曜日。

昨日の夜からずっと雨。

朝にはやむかなと思ったけれど、そのまま午後まで降り続いた。

肌寒いくらいの気温。

たっぷり寝坊して昼前に起きる。

サワードウを仕込んだ。

夫が目玉焼きを焼いて、トーストと食べる。

いつも2回目の方がうまく出来るので、先に食べさせてくれるわたしの分より、夫の分の方がきれいな目玉焼きのだけど、今日は1回目で成功した！とうれしそうだった。

白身が丸いフライパンの形に広がっていて、並んだ黄身が目みたいでかわいい。

お昼も夫担当。

サーモンを焼いて、トマトサラダ、茹でたポテト。

シンプルでおいしい。

魚の中ではサーモンが一番好きみたい。魚臭くないもんね。

掃除して、午後は干していたラベンダーの花を外す作業。

一本ずつ、指で擦るようにするとパラパラと落ちる。

葉っぱも茎もいい匂いで、うれしい作業。

夫も参加して、音楽を聴きながらすすめた。

雨の日にぴったり。

夜ごはんはお昼の残り。

ポテトはポテトサラダにする。

発酵漬けのキュウリを入れたらすごくおいしかった。

ペロリと食べる。

その後しっかりお昼寝。

夜、夫の散髪。

ストレッチ。

夜更かしせずおふとんに入ったけれど、すぐには寝付けなかった。
