yuko's diary 9/1/26

Tuesday.

I worked at the usual hospital.

Brought some tomatoes with me.

It was a full day.

One cancellation, but went smoothly.

I did my study and puzzle.

I could go for a walk after lunch.

It was supposed to be warmer than yesterday, but it was cloudy and felt cooler.

I was done by 4 and Dan came to pick me up.

He made pasta for dinner, and we had a nap.

I was so tired.

I couldn’t wake up so Dan went to water the garden.

After rested some more and changed, I went to see him.

He was doing great, and enjoying it.

I know, watering is fun.

I picked beans, dill’s seeds, and Japanese pear that fell down.

The dill was like an art piece.

So beautiful.

We appreciate it and then removed seeds.

The Japanese pear has only few fruits this year, but each is bigger than last year.

We tried one, and it was sweet and juicy.

We listened to baseball radio.

They lost, but it was fun to spend evening together.

火曜日。

今日はいつもの病院で仕事。

トマトをおすそ分けに持っていく。

それなりに予定の詰まった日。

キャンセルがありつつもスムーズに進んだ。

勉強を進めて、パズルも少しする。

お昼には歩きにも出られた。

気温は昨日より高いはずなんだけど、曇っていて全然暑くない。

4時に上がって、休みを取った夫に迎えにきてもらった。

パスタをつくっておいてくれたので、すぐに晩ごはん。

その後一緒にお昼寝した。

なんだかすごく疲れている。

起き上がれないわたしの代わりに、夫が水やりをしてくれる。

しばらく休んで、のそのそと着替えてから外へ。

わたしとは違う方法で、でも楽しそうに水やりしていた。

そうなんだ、水やり楽しいよね。

お庭の様子が観察できるし。

でも、水やりせずに観察するのも視点が違って楽しい。

つまりお庭にいるのが楽しい。

豆と、ディルの種、風で落ちていた梨を収穫した。

ディルの種はなんともきれいな造形。彫刻みたい。

直径20センチくらいの半球状に茎が伸びて、その先がひとつずつまた半球のようになって種がついている。

しばし鑑賞してから種を取り外した。

梨は今年実をつけた数はとても少なかったけれど、代わりにひとつずつは去年より大きい。

これは20世紀かな？

とっても甘くてみずみずしい。

野球中継を聴きながらのんびりする。

夫と平日夕方からの時間を過ごすのはすごくひさしぶり。

ドジャースは負けたけれど楽しかった。
