yuko's diary 8/31/26

Monday.

We woke up 6 and got ready, and left before 7.

I drove to the tire store.

We wanted to buy new tires, but they were out of it.

So we asked them to just check the spare tire.

We walked down and had coffee and walked back.

The wife of the owner was telling him that where the tire was.

Oh well.

So we were ready to go home, but the key stopped working all of sudden.

It is old key and it’s difficult o turn, but this is insane.

We spent 10 minutes or so and finally made it with my spare key.

Jeez.

We stopped at the car wash and co-op.

It was a hard morning.

I started cooking lunch by putting potatoes and sweet potato in the BBQ.

Then we picked tomatoes.

Dan marinated chicken.

I added eggplant and peppers.

It was all good.

Then Dan had a long nap, but I couldn’t sleep.

So I cleaned the kitchen and baked bread.

It was a beautiful day.

Dan woke up late and made dinner with leftover.

Chicken and potato burritos.

It was really good.

I watered the garden.

The sunset was very beautiful.

We did stretching and had a relaxing night.

It was hard, but fun and also beautiful day.

月曜日。

6時に起きて、用意をして、7時前に出発。

今日は車の修理。

行きはわたしが運転していった。

新しいタイヤを買いたかったのだけど、今ないということで、スペアタイヤのチェックだけしてもらうことにする。

歩いてコーヒーを飲みに行って、戻ってくると、対応してくれたおじさんの奥さんが、ここにタイヤあるって言ったでしょ！と叱っていた。あはは。

なんだ、あったんじゃんと思いつつ、来週してもらうことに。

さて帰ろうとして、車に乗るも、カギが回らない。

古い車だし、カギもすり減っているのでうまくかからないこともあるけれど、ここまでかからないのは初めて。

10分くらい、おじさんにも見てもらって、結局わたしのスペアキーでなんとかエンジンがかかった。

ほっとしたけれど今後が不安だ。

洗車場に寄って、コープに寄って帰宅。

なんだかどっと疲れた。

ポテトとサツマイモをBBQへ入れてからトマトの収穫。

夫は手羽元の味付け担当。

マリネ液にもトマトをたっぷり入れて。

お庭のナス、ペッパーも焼いて完成。

ナスがとろとろでおいしい〜。

その後夫はお昼寝していたけれど、わたしは寝たいのに寝付けず。

朝仕込んだライ麦パンと、食パンを焼いたり、台所を片付けたりして過ごした。

外はいい天気、キラキラしている。

夕方ようやく夫が起きて、残り物でブリトーを作ってくれた。

わたしは水やり。

太陽が沈みかけていたけれど、なんだかいつもと位置が違う？

冬に向かうほど、太陽は北に移動するのではなかったっけ？南？

不思議だけどとてもきれいな夕焼けだった。

夜はストレッチしたりしてのんびり過ごす。

なんだか疲れたけれど、楽しいこともあったし、なによりすごく美しい日だった。
