I knew it will be hot today, so I woke up early and watered well.
After that when I was making coffee,
I saw 7 deers right outside of kitchen window.
They ate my other tomatoes which was not in the cage.
But they ate whole tomato which I like it very much.
I started laundry, and also started working on making ketchup.
Roasted them and peel them, cooked with salt, sugar, onion, garlic.
Then strain it through and cooked more.
I ended up with 3 jars. 2 for canning and 1 is for immediate use.
This year I don’t have much sauce tomato, will grow more next year.
We had leftover pizza for lunch, and then hotdog for dinner.
I wanted to try my ketchup.
It was really good.
When we went out to bring garbage can in front,
we realized that there were so much star. No moon.
So I brought my phone and check names of stars and constellations on an app.
Jupiter was the brightest, deneb, vega, arcturus, and milky way!
Dan played Monty Python’s Galaxy Song. It’s fun song to sing.
今日は暑くなるので早起きして水やり。
終わってコーヒー入れていたら、シカが７匹くらい窓のすぐ外にいてびっくりした。
ハーブガーデンの横に余ったトマトを植えているのだけれど、そこのトマトをきれいに食べていた。
ちゃんと食べてくれたので文句はない。
洗濯機を回してから、溜まってきたトマトを消費するためにケチャップ作りに挑戦することに。
皮むきといえば湯煎だと思っていたけれど、オーブンにちょっと入れてむく方法をやってみた。
種と水分を取り除き、タマネギ、ニンニク、塩、砂糖を入れて３０分ほど煮てから、
しっかり濾して酢合わせて煮詰める。
煮沸消毒した瓶に詰め、２つは保存用にさらに煮沸。
素朴だけど味の深いケチャップ。
水分が多めの種類を使ったから、ぐっと量が減った。
来年はソース系に向く種類を植えようと思っている。
お昼は残りのピザをつまんで。
夜ご飯はホットドックにできたばかりのケチャップをのせて食べた。
おいしい！
夜ゴミ出しで外に出ると、月がなくて星がよく見えた。
アプリを使って星座を探してみる。ぱっとわかるのは北斗七星。
木星が一番明るく、デネブ、ベガ、アルクトゥルス、ミルキーウェイも見れた。
夫が昔見た、モンティ・パイソンのギャラクシーソングというのを見せてくれた。
癖になる曲。
