yuko's diary 8/27/26

Thursday.

I worked in Brewster today.

The sunrise was after 6.

On the way to the bus station, we saw five turkeys running.

They were huge and I can’t stop laughing.

It got smokey again since last night.

The schedule was almost full, but everything went smoothly.

I did my study.

There are things the online course didn’t cover and I have to research by myself.

It’s scary but it is what it is.

I got on the 3pm bus and went to the library.

Printed out stuff I need to study.

On the way home, I saw other 5 turkeys again!

Where have you been?

Do they migrate??

Saige came to say hi.

I gave her cookie.

Ate ramen Dan left for me, and picked tomatoes.

Roma tomatoes go into freezer.

Rested while and did my workout around 9pm.

Dan texted me and told me that it’s moon eclipse happening right now.

So I went outside, and it was really just happening.

The smoke was gone and stars were out.

So beautiful.

While waiting for Dan, I turned off the kitchen light and watched moon.

He called me when he left work.

The eclipse was just over when he got home.

What a beautiful night.

木曜日。

今日はブリュースターへ。

日の出は6時過ぎ。

夫に送ってもらっている時、車窓から野生のターキーが5羽くらい走っているのが見えた。

でかい！

孔雀より大きいんじゃないかと思う。

そんな大きい鳥が走っているのがなんだかおかしくて笑った。

昨日の夕方からまた一気に煙い。

あらま。

予定はそれなりに詰まっていたけれど、どれもスムーズに行った。

勉強をすすめる。

オンラインコースでカバーできていないところもちらほらあり、そこは自分で調べるしかない。

不安だけど、できることをやるだけだ。

3時のバスで町に戻って図書館へ。

また図書館で印刷したり、関連のことを調べたり。

次のバスに乗っている時、またターキーを5羽ほど見かけておかしい。

これまでどこにいたの？

まさか渡り鳥なんだろうか。

帰宅するとセージが出迎えてくれた。

クッキーをあげる。

夫が残していってくれたラーメンで晩ごはん。

それからお庭へ。

また一気に色づいたトマトを収穫する。

ソース用のロマトマトは、色づいた順にヘタを取って冷凍庫へ。

だいぶ溜まってきた。

しばらく休んで、9時ごろからワークアウトしていたら夫から連絡。

月食だよ！と。

慌てて外に出ると、左上の一部を残してきれいに欠けている。

うわー、すごい。

煙も落ち着いて、星も出ている。

夫が帰宅するまで、台所の電気を消して、月を眺めて過ごした。

仕事先を出る前の夫と電話で話す。

帰宅した頃にはほとんど満月に戻っていた。

すてきな夜だった。
