Monday.
Dan left for work.
I went outside to work on the garden.
Today I transplanted tree seedlings.
New Jersey tea tree, a small bush, and witch hazel.
I grew them from seeds, and after a year, it finally 10cm tall.
I planted them in various location.
Also some more lavenders.
Then, I transplanted cabbage seedlings which are so frail, I don’t know if they will make it.
Japanese Indigo which I grew back after took the leaves out for dying.
I worked hard whole morning in smoke.
I felt my throat was itchy.
Had leftover for lunch, took some rest.
And started painting.
I finish painting the east side except high places.
Then moved to the south side.
It was cloudy and cool, but also little humid.
I stopped around 3pm.
And spent time to take off paint from my face, body and hair.
Took bath.
Dan came home around 5pm.
We made carbonara together.
Garlic, onion, and shallots.
Very simple, and very good.
Mets was wining over Atlanta.
Wow.
Washington state is under state of emergency.
And Canada is having the worst wild fire year.
My parents saw news on Japanese news.

夫は仕事へ。
見送った後、外へ出てまずお庭の作業。
今日は、水やり後木の植え替えをした。
ニュージャージーティーツリーという低木と、ウィッチヘーゼル。
どちらも北米原産の木で、種から1年ほど育ててようやく10センチくらいになったもの。
ニュージャージーティーツリーはいわゆるお茶の木とは関係なくて、
でも市民戦争の際にこの木の葉っぱをお茶がわりにしたとか。
ウィッチヘーゼルは日本のマンサクと同じ仲間なのかな。
ウィッチと言いつつ、魔女とは関係ないらしい。
水脈を探すダウジングに枝を使ったから、とか。
化粧水などに使われる。
それぞれ5本ほどあるので、あちこちに植えてみた。
ラベンダーもまだあるので一緒に。
さらにキャベツのひょろりとした苗をお庭に植え替えたり、
藍の葉っぱを取った後の茎を根出ししたものを植え替えたり。
午前中ずっと忙しくしていた。
煙は相変わらずで、ずっと外にいるとちょっと喉がイガイガする。
まぁ、あんまりよくないだろうなと思う。
お昼は昨日の残りを食べて、少し休憩して、午後からまたペンキ塗り。
東側の壁、手が届くところまで終えて、南側へ移動。
煙が出ていて涼しいけれど、少し湿気があるように感じる。
4分の1くらいできたところで終了。
片付けて鏡を見たら、顔中にペンキが付いていた。髪の毛にも。
お風呂に入ってキレイに落とす。
夫は5時ごろ帰宅。
一緒にカルボナーラを作る。
具はニンニク、タマネギ、シャロットだけ。
シンプルでとても美味しい。
メッツはリーグ内1位のブレイブスと対戦。
どうせボロ負けかなとつけてみたら、勝っていた。
ワシントン州は山火事で緊急事態宣言が出ているらしい。
こないだの火事はカナダに広がって、カナダは今年過去最悪の山火事だそう。
日本のニュースになっていると親から連絡もきた。
みんな無事でありますように。
