It took me three hours to water since I was thinking about pruning.
It got hot before I finished.
I picked eggplant, green pepper, tomato.
Dan decided to make pancake.
But we didn’t have egg.
Last week, we received a note from our neighbor, Norna.
In that letter she apologized for her chicken and offered us eggs.
She put her phone number but it was missing two number so we couldn’t call her.
We decided to go knock on her door, bringing my vegetables.
A small house on Lilac street was her house.
We met her for the first time.
There was a very friendly cat and many beautiful chickens.
She gave us 2 dozens of egg.
Folktale like morning.
Pancakes taste very sweet.
It was cloudy, so I did some weeding around the apple tree.
I also did little pruning.
It was humid and I got weird headache.
So I had to stop.
Dan was cleaning up the kitchen.
And made us BLT sandwiches.
L and T were from my garden and the pickles.
He kept working in the afternoon.
I took easy.
Mets lost again.
Oh no.
For dinner I cooked eggplant and green pepper.
Fried and dipped them in the sauce and put over rice.
Very good.
I love eggplant. We can fry, cook, pickle, anything with it.
木にも水やりしながら、剪定のことをつらつら考えていたら３時間経っていた。
なんでこんなに暑いんだろうと思って時計を見てきづいた。
あらら。
ナスとグリーンペッパー、トマトを収穫。
パンケーキをつくると夫。
卵がないのだけど、先週ポストにお手紙をいれてくれた方のところにもらいにいくことにする。
そのお手紙には、『うちの鶏がうるさくてすみません。今たっぷり卵があるから、ご入用なら声かけてください』と、名前と電話番号が載っていたけれど、タイプミスで番号が欠けていて連絡できなかったのだった。
お隣のラリーにお家の場所も確認したので、ノックしにいくことに。
お返しに、トマト、グリーンペッパー、キュウリなどをふきんに包んでもっていく。
うちを含めて３軒しかないブレッツ・ストリートと垂直に交差しているライラック・ストリートの奥に１軒だけあるおうち。
ノックするとやさしそうなご婦人が迎え入れてくれた。ひとなつこい猫も。
サイズも色もとりどりのきれいな卵を２ダースくださった。

ちゃんとお話しするのは初めてで、会えてよかった。
おとぎばなしみたいな朝。
夫のつくってくれたパンケーキはやさしい味がした。
しばらく曇っていたので、外に出て、リンゴの木の周りを草引き。
剪定も少ししてみた。
湿気があってすぐに汗がでてくる。
なんだか頭痛もするので無理はせず。
夫は台所の大掃除をしていた。
途中でBLTサンドイッチもつくってくれる。
ベーコンとトースト以外はお庭のもの。つけあわせのピクルスも。
おいしい～。
午後も夫は続行。
わたしはのんびりしていた。
メッツまた負ける。
もともと弱いチームだけれど、なんだか、嫌なムード。
夜ご飯は朝収穫したナスとグリーンペッパーを、ベーコンを焼いたフライパンで揚げ焼きしてから煮浸し。
ごはんの上にたっぷりかけてイエロートマトを添えて食べた。
ナスは揚げても焼いても煮ても生でもおいしいな～。
