yuko's diary 8/14/24

Wednesday.

As my colleague is on vacation, I worked with another tech.

He hasn’t been here for over a year, so I started working at 7 to show him around.

Dan drove me to work.

We had a full schedule day with many old people, but everyone was healthy and nice.

There was a patient with unfamiliar name, and he told me that he’s from Iceland.

His eyes were beautiful blue green.

There was a triple study and the patient was freaking out.

We tried everything to make it work, and eventually we managed to finish 2.

When they were leaving they said that “it was an interesting experience”

And I’m glad to hear that.

I stayed little after 4, and walked home.

At co-op, I heard about the road work that will happen on the main road.

This means, all cars will go through by the MRI trailer.

For few months.

Oh no.

Back home, I did my workout, and made dinner.

Cucumber salad and fried rice.

Mets finally broke the loosing streak.

We went to bed early.

水曜日。

今日はいつもの同僚が休暇中のため、別の技師さんとの仕事。

滅多にこのサイトに来ない彼が迷わないようにわたしも7時からの出勤。

夫に送ってもらう。

なかなかに予定の詰まった日。

70代、80代の患者さんが多く、覚悟して臨んだけれど、どの方もとてもしっかりしていて、機嫌の良い方ばかりだった。

珍しい名前の方に発音をお聞きすると、アイスランド出身とのこと。

きれいな青緑の目をしていた。

午後の患者さん、3つのスキャンがあって、すごい怖がっていらしたので、

いろいろおしゃべりしたり、ブランケットを何枚もかけたり、水を持ってきたり、わたしたちも手をつくす。

途中からお互いおかしくなってきて、最後は「おもしろい体験だったわ」と言って帰って行かれてよかった。

合間に読書も進んだ。

わたしにとって川上未映子さんの文章といえば夏の描写なのだけど、この本にも夏の様子が描かれる。

読んでいるだけでむわーッとしてくるような文章。

ちょうど真ん中くらい。引き込まれるように読んだ。

4時半ごろまで残って、大丈夫そうなところで歩いて帰る。

コープに寄ると、月末から始まる町の大通りの工事の情報が書いてあった。

つまり、数ヶ月の間、みんながMRIのある裏通りを通ることになる。

わー、しばらくバタバタしそう。

ワークアウトはキックボクシング風のエクササイズで、しっかり汗をかく。

パンチする動作って、これまでほとんどしたことのない動きで、なんとも不思議だった。

晩ごはんはきゅうりの梅和えとチャーハン。

セロリをじっくり炒めて入れたのがよかった。

ここのところ連敗していたメッツがようやく勝ってほっとする。

夜は今日も涼しく、早めにお布団へ。
