Friday.

It’s weekend.

I overslept little and went out after 6.

Watered a lot.

We picked strawberries.

Two for each.

Breakfast was eggs and toast.

I wanted to buy seeds for garden.

There were some seeds in supermarket and they are not very reliable but good enough for addition.

We saw many signs for garage sale and went three of them.

In a church, in a front yard, in a parking lot.

I got mason jars and shirt that I can wear in garden.

Dan got several stuff for his art work.

We love garage sale.

Back home, we made pasta with soy sausage.

With lots of shredded basil.

Then we had a good nap.

Whenever Dan woke up, he looked for me.

I harvested carrots which were not big enough, like finger size.

But I need to sow fall seeds so they had to go.

I made rice topping with leaves.

I made brown rice and cooked cod.

Good dinner.

We listened to baseball broadcasting.

I soaked seeds in water.

Finally I understand why they don’t germinate when I direct sow.

They dry up before they can germinate as our soil is sandy.

With this knowledge, I’m getting better, I hope.

Although we had a nap, we slept well at night.

金曜日。

今日はお休み。

少し寝坊して、6時過ぎに外へ。

しっかり水やり。

イチゴを収穫。今日はふた粒ずつ採れた。

朝ごはんはトーストと目玉焼き。

お庭の種を買いたかったので町へ。

スーパーで売っている種はあまり頼りにならないけれど、追加としては便利。

道のあちこちにガレージセールの立て看板。

教会でやっているもの、前庭を開放している家、駐車場で行われているもの、みっつ回った。

わたしは空き瓶とお庭で着る用のシャツ、夫は作品に使うものをいろいろ見つけてほくほく。

ガレージセール大好き。

帰宅して、大豆ソーセージ入りのトマトソースのパスタをつくる。

お庭のバジルをたっぷりかけて食べた。

それからしっかりお昼寝。

夫が起きるたびにわたしの居場所を確認するのがかわいかった。

夕方に起きて、ニンジンの収穫。

指くらいの大きさにしかならなかったけれど、秋に向けて種を蒔く時期なので、一旦収穫。

きれいに洗って食べたら、なんとも複雑な味でおいしい。

葉っぱでふりかけをつくる。

玄米ごはんを炊いて、鯛を焼く。

おいしい。

夜も野球中継を聴きながらのんびりする。

明日蒔く種を水につけておく。

だんだんわかってきたのだけど、種が発芽しないのは、水分不足。

ここは砂っぽい土だから、水がすぐに乾いてしまう。

発芽するまで一定の水分が必要なので、そこに気をつけるようにしてから少し発芽率が上がったように思う。

お昼寝したけれど、夜もぐっすり眠った。
