Saturday.
When I went outside, my plants were all over.
It looked like someone was fighting there.
The quail mom was not there either.
I was worried, but there’s nothing I can do.
After watering, I called the dentist at 7am sharp.
Then I got an appointment at 8:30.
It was literally by the agency Dan is working.
The dentist was very nice and told me that his mentor Is Japanese woman. He also told me that all good equipment comes from Tokyo.
They found a little cavity in between my front tooth.
They were very busy but decided to fix it anyway.
There were 4 or 5 chairs and everyone was so busy.
The assistant told me that it’s like this every day.
It is small and old, but important clinic with state insurance.
I made my appointment for exam which is the end of August.
On the way home, we bought the primer and started to paint the north wall.
It was fun to work together.
We did it little past 2, and stopped.
Almost done with whole wall.
Went to the usual restaurant and I got Dan’s favourite: fried chicken burger.
It was really good.
We had nap, and watched Mets game.
I dropped the laptop from bed to carpet, and we do it all the time, so didn’t think it’s a big deal, but the screen was just black.
Omg.
I contacted Apple and arranged the shipping.
Phew.
Since my visit to doctor, I have been bad lucked.
I decided to think this computer sacrifice itself for me, so that I can avoid bigger one.
Without computer, we can still have some fun.
Dan was pretending to be an internet by let me type question on his arm, and answered it with robotic accent.
This robot knows a lot about baseball.
Fine, without computer, we are going to have so much fun.
土曜日。
朝外に出ると、植木鉢がひっくり返ってる。
格闘の跡のように見える。
ウズラママもいない。
植木鉢を直して、とりあえず見守る。
水やりをして、7時になった瞬間に電話をかけてみると、ようやくつながった！
8時半に予約が取れたので、準備してでかける。
歯医者さんは、ほんとうに夫の職場のすぐ隣だった。
週末担当の医師は、メンターがシアトルにいる日本人の女性なんだ！とうれしそうにしていた。
いちばんいい器具はぜんぶ東京のものだよ、とも。
レントゲンには映らなかったものの、やっぱり前歯の隙間に小さな虫歯が。
予約を取り直して、となりかけたけど、痛みどめもらえますか？と聞いたら、急いでやってくれることに。
小さな医院に椅子が4つほどあり、みんなすごく忙しそう。
助手の方によると、毎日こんな感じらしい。
州の保険が効く、貴重な存在なんだろう。
大変そう、でもありがたい。
検査の予約を取って帰宅。
いちばん早くて8月の終わり。
わー。
虫歯が治ったことより、駆け込める場所を見つけたことがうれしい。
ペンキの下地を購入して帰宅後、ちょっと休憩してからペンキ塗り。
夫も参戦して、北側の壁をほぼ最後まで塗る。
2時過ぎまでやっていた。
さすがに疲れたので終了して、町のレストランへ。
今日は夫のお気に入りのフライドチキンバーガーを食べる。
薄いチキンカツがとってもおいしかった。
帰宅してお昼寝。
夕方メッツの試合を見ていて、ベットからパタンとカーペットの上にパソコンが落ちた。
よくあることで、普通に拾い上げて開いてみると、画面が真っ黒！！
うわー、なんだこれ。
こんな簡単に壊れるんだなぁ。
パソコン自体は動いているようなのだけど、なにも映らないからどうしようもない。
うーん。
アップルに連絡して、修理に出すことにした。
こういう時、チャットサービスは便利。
人によっては英語が伝わりにくい時もあるので。チャットでいろいろ進めた。
ふうう。
病院の検査から、虫歯から、いろいろあるなぁ。
なにか大きなものの肩代わりをしてくれたと思っておく。
パソコンがなくなったら、おしゃべりや他のことができていいやん、と夫。
腕のところをキーボードに見立てて、質問を入力すると答えてくれる、という遊びをした。
おもに野球の話だけど。
パソコンがなくても、毎日楽しいことに変わりはない。
この期間、どうすごそうかな、と思うとわくわくしてきた。
