yuko's diary 7/22/24

Monday.

I watered the garden very well.

Some of tree are having new growth right now in the heat.

How? They amaze me all the time.

It rained so lightly.

It’s the fist rain in a month or more.

I was so excited but then the thunder came along.

This is the dangerous light thunderstorm.

I cleaned the house, and made myself sandwich, then got ready to zoom meeting with my friend.

She’s in Europe.

We had so much to talk about, and after 2 hours, we still could talk, but stopped.

I prepared dinner quickly.

Rice, kale, and tofu.

I moved them to bedroom.

I started crocheting.

I love making something with my hands.

Dan came home around 4.

The hot wind was so strong.

Dan got this new app that tells you where’s the fire around you.

I got the same one.

I hope everyone will be safe.

We had dinner and watched baseball.

It didn’t cool down quickly.

I tried to sleep without AC but couldn’t.

We ended up using AC until midnight.

月曜日。

今日もたっぷり水やりから。

この暑さの中でも新芽が出ている木もあって、本当に感心する。

元気でいてくれてありがとう。

水やりの途中で、パラパラと雨。

ひと月ぶり、いやそれ以上かもしれない。

雨にこんなに感動したのは初めてかも。

でもそれ以上降らず、さらに遠くで雷の音。ああ、これが危険な雷か。

もっと降れーと祈りながら過ごす。

片付けて、お昼ごはんの用意をしてから、ヨーロッパに住む友達とおしゃべり。

ひさしぶりだったので、話すことがたくさんある。

2時間たっぷり話して、まだ話せるなぁというところで終える。

それからご飯を炊いて、ケールを炒め、豆腐ステーキを焼く。

涼しい寝室に移動しておく。

なんとなく、手を動かしたくなって、かぎ編みで巾着をつくりはじめる。

繰り返しの作業が楽しい。

夫は4時前に帰宅。

外は熱風が吹いている。

あちこちで山火事が起こっていて、地図の上に状況が示されるアプリを夫が教えてくれた。

みんな無事でいてほしい。

ご飯を食べて野球を見る。

気温がなかなか下がらず、一旦クーラーを切って寝始めたものの、もう一度つけた。

夜中に消す。
