Watering lightly.
I guess herbs are fine without it.
I harvested rest of potatoes, and pulled oats.
They are completely dry.
I scattered the oats in between gardens.
Birds will eat before it ever germinate, but that’s fine too.
I did half of that.
Coffee, and cereal.
I picked herb, and cleaned seeds.
Then I potting up cherry, and persimmon seedlings.
4 more persimmon just germinated.
Hope they will grow big.
I checked all the seeds I have.
And think about next year.
Some of them which didn’t do well here, I will try again.
I will try new seeds and varieties, I will save some seeds.
It’s like an experiment that you can only try once a year.
I hope I will get some idea in several years.
Dan made carbonara for lunch.
With lots of parsley.
The parsley is flowering now, hope self seeds for next year.
I was sleepy whole afternoon, but I couldn’t sleep.
We went to shopping and got frozen pizza Dan wanted.
Then we put lots of greens from garden on top.
marinated with simple dressing.
Very nice.
Dan made it possible to open the window without taking the AC down.
After the hottest hour in the day,
there are hours that inside is warmer than outside.
When we open the window, the chilled breeze comes inside,
and I love that.
今日も軽めに水やり。
ハーブは乾燥に強いものばかりだから、ハーブガーデンの水やりはいらないかもしれない。
のこりのジャガイモを掘り返し、周りに残してあったオーツ麦を引き抜く。
もう乾燥し切っているオーツ麦を、庭の間の、芝が枯れかけているところに撒いておく。
発芽する前に鳥に食べられそうだけど、それでもいいや。
途中で終了。
コーヒー、シリアル。
ハーブを収穫して、種の選別。
チェリーの苗の、鉢の底から根っこが見えているものを大きめの鉢に植え替える。
空いたところに、カキの苗をお引っ越し。
カキはさらに４つ発芽した。このまま順調に育って欲しいな。
木の苗の成長具合はまだよくつかめない。
ゆっくりでいて、ある瞬間にとても速い。
残っている種の在庫確認。
整理して、来年のことをすこし考える。
ここの土地に合わなかったものは、諦めるのともう一度チャレンジするものに分ける。
違うバラエティを試してみたいもの、よかったから追加するもの。
新しく追加したいもの。
自家採種で十分間に合うもの。
１年に１回しか試せない実験をしているみたい。
数年経てば、わたしの定番みたいなのができてくるだろうか。
お昼はカルボナーラ。
パセリをたっぷりいれて。
お庭のパセリはもうお花が満開だ。零れ種に期待。
午後はのんびりしていたけれど、あんまり眠れず。
眠いのだけれど。
夕方買い出しに行って、夫がどうしても食べたかった大きな冷凍ピザを買ってきた。
ルッコラ、パセリ、バジル、ディルを刻んで、シンプルなドレッシングと混ぜたものを載せて食べる。おお、おいしい。
エアコンを切った後、窓を開けられるようにしてもらった。
夕方の一番暑い時間のあと、屋外の気温が下がり始める頃、室内の方が少し高いままの時間がある。その時に窓を開けると入ってくる冷たい空気が好き。
