Woke up early and watered well.
It’s hard not to water in the summer heat.
Then I did weeding in the second garden.
The onion looks almost ready to harvest.
I also picked herbs.
Coffee and cereal.
I sorted some seeds while listening podcast.
When the news are overwhelming, I prefer the radio.
The sun was strong in the afternoon.
We went to the farmer’s market.
Michael and Diego weren’t there! NOoo.
I guess they are taking summer break.
We got Thai food instead.
The old tomato couple told Dan that someone offered them 3 millions to buy their lands,
but he told the person they don’t need that much money at that old age.
Two tomatoes are less than 3 dollars, those big squash is 50 cent each.
I asked Mariah that if she has another lavender, and turned out that I bought the last one.
So I decided to try it from seeds.
You can grow lavender from cuttings, but it means that is a clone,
and it wouldn’t grow strong.
If you grow it from the seed, it will take 2 years to harvest, and the germination itself take long time.
But I will try.
I put it in the sealed plastic bag with moist peat moss and place it in the fridge.
That makes the seed to think it is winter now. Then I will sow them 6 weeks later.
We had relaxing afternoon.
No AC.
We ate cream cheese with tomato and arugula bagel sandwich.
I took a hot bath and tried my new socks. I love them.
早起きしてたっぷり水やり。
一度心配になったらなかなか水やりを減らせないな～。
涼しいうちに、しばらくほったらかしてた、二つ目のお庭の草取り。
タマネギの収穫が近づいている。
ハーブをつむ。
コーヒーとシリアル。
昨日の種のつづき。
いろんなポッドキャストを聴きながら。
情報が多いのと、きついのとで、目で追うのがしんどいときはラジオがいい。
お昼からしっかりした日差し。
ファーマーズマーケットへ。
今日もマイケルとディエゴがいなかった！
暑いからしばらく休みなのかなぁ。そろそろタマレを食べたいのに。
代わりにタイ料理を買って帰ることにする。
トマトのおじいさん達、土地を３億円で売らないかと持ちかけられたけれど、
この歳でそんな金いらんと言って断ったらしい。
ちなみにトマト２個で３ドル以下、大きなズッキーニはひとつ５０セントで売っている。
マライアに、もうラベンダーはない？と聞いたら、わたしが買ったのが最後だった。
種を買ってみることにする。
ラベンダーは切った枝から増やせるみたいなのだけれど、
それだとつまりクローンで、あまり強くならないみたい。
種から育てると収穫まで２年はかかるし、発芽するまでも長いのだけどやってみる。
まずは湿らせた状態で冷蔵庫で６週間。冬を疑似体験させるのだそう。へー。
あとはのんびりして過ごした。
今日はクーラーなし。
夜は、ベーグルトマトクリームチーズサンド。
お風呂につかって、昨日できたところのくつ下を履いた。いいかんじ。
