Saturday.
I woke up 5 and watered the garden.
I was worried about the heat, but most of them were fine.
I kept working outside before it gets too hot.
Fixed the fence for mulberry, and worked on tomato support.
While I was working on the tomato support, the sun came out,
and it got hot quick.
Dan finished making the door for tomato fence, and also mowed.
We cut down weeds under the tree.
I raked a lot and got lots of mulching material.
We worked hard until it got too hot around noon.
Dan made us ham sandwich with lots of stuff in it.
He put avocado and tomato for me.
Then we took a long nap.
When we came back from store,
Joe and Debi were talking.
There were many dogs around.
Ellie was out too.
As she was new here, she doesn’t get to go outside as much.
She is so young that after playing catch so hard, still brought us ball.
She also ate lots of weed.
In the next street, there is a chow chow, and recently they got one more.
It is so cute to look at the big one and small one together.
We saw them walking down the street for the first time.
We had hot dog for dinner.
It was so good as we put everything we got.
Kimchi, tomato, pickles, shallots...
Went to bed early, it was almost chilly.
土曜日。
5時に起きて水やり。
昨日の暑さでやられてないか心配したけれど、けっこう大丈夫だったようでほっとする。
すずしいうちに作業をいろいろと。
桑の木が柵からはみ出ていたので、あたらしく作り直す。
それからトマトのサポートを強化して、縦に張った麻糸に沿って育つようにしていく。
この作業の途中で、木の向こうから太陽がさしてきて、一気に暑くなった。
太陽、ほんとすごい。
夫はトマトの柵に扉をつけてくれたり、芝刈りをしたり。
そのあとふたりで、木の下の雑草払いの続きを。
これでたっぷりマルチがつくれたので、お庭にしきつめる。
お昼までしっかり作業したので、かなりはかどった。
暑くなってきたタイミングで夫がハムサンドイッチをつくってくれて休憩。
ふだん、自分用にはハムとチーズとマスタードだけだけど、アボカドとトマトもいれてくれる。
そのあとしっかりお昼寝。
起きて、買い物に出て帰ってきたら、ジョーとデビーが立ち話していた。
犬もたくさん。
エリーという、中型の犬もめずらしく出てきていた。
まだここにきて日が浅いので、あまり外に出さないようにしているようだった。
エリーは若い。
くったくたになるくらいボール遊びをして水をがぶ飲みして休憩したあと、またボールを持ってくる。
刈ったばかりの草を一生懸命食べていておかしかった。
そういえば、一本となりの通りの家にはチャウチャウがいて、とてもかわいいのだけれど、
最近もう1匹チャウチャウが増えて、大小でかわいくて最高。
ほとんど吠えなくて、そこも好き。
今日は初めて散歩しているところを見た。
夜はホットドック。
キムチ、ピクルス、トマト、シャロットとなんでも乗せたので豪勢になった。
おいしい～。
あっという間に夜。
今日は昨日よりは涼しく、また夜は肌寒いくらいだった。
