Woke up early and water the garden.
Picked lavender. More and more flower buds are opening.
Brought bucket and rudder, and I picked sour cherry.
Some of them are still yellow.
It’s funny how you think better ones are over there every time.
Coffee, cherry and yogurt.
Then I pruned tomatoes, and packed more chamomile.
Dan made bacon and egg.
I fried peas that I picked today.
It’s farmer’s market day.
There were more kids than usual, oh, I guess it’s summer break.
An old couple was playing rock music, and kids were listening and eating shaved ice.
Very peaceful.
We got tamales, tomatoes, and garlic.
I will try to plant garlic next year.
Back home, rest a little bit,
and then worked on bedroom window.
We put the dark brown stained wood for winter, and just removing it made difference.
I put drywall, and corner beads.
The room would look much bigger when I finish.
At 8pm, it was still light outside.
I went out and transplanted some of catnip, and red shiso.
We watched “The Umbrella Academy”, episode 3 and 4 of season 3.
I was always wondering where this series take place,
but it was somewhere you can drive to Pennsylvania.
Hmm, NY or Boston?
I guess they are trying to keep it nowhere.
I like how they are careful for small details.
The ballot didn’t come today.
I don’t want to think about that, but I might be not able to vote this time.
早起きして水やり。
今日の分のラベンダーを摘む。
１日ずつ咲いている数が増えてきた。
バケツとハシゴを持ってきて、サワーチェリーも収獲。
まだ完全には熟れてないので選びながら。
すぐ近くのものより、少し離れたところの方が赤く見えるのはなんでだろう。
コーヒー、チェリーとヨーグルト。
トマトの剪定、カモミールの仕分け。
夫がベーコンエッグをつくってくれた。
エンドウ豆が採れたので、それも炒めて食べる。
午後はファーマーズマーケットへ。
今日はいつもより子供が多いような？
ああ、もう夏休みなのかな。
７０代くらいのご夫婦が、ロックミュージックを演奏していて、なかなかの音痴なのだけど、
そのまわりにかき氷を食べている子供たちが集められていて、なんとも平和だった。
いつものタマレ、トマト、それからニンニクを購入。
ニンニク、来年は育ててみよう。
帰って一服した後、
寝室の窓の作業にとりかかる。
濃い茶色のオイルステインを塗った板をとりあえず貼っていたのだけど、
それを取っただけですっきりした。
石膏ボードを貼って、コーナービードを貼って。
これでパテ埋めをしたら、真っ白でシンプルな窓枠の出来上がり。
すでに部屋が広くなったよう。
夕方というか夜の８時、まだ明るいので、外で植え替えなど。
もう諦めかけていた赤シソが芽を出していたのでそれと、
密集して生えてきたキャットニップを。
これはマタタビのようなもので、近所の猫が来てくれたらいいなと思って育てている。
お茶にもできるみたい。
“The Umbrella Academy”の３、４話。
このシリーズの舞台はどこの設定なんだろう、とずっと思っていたけれど、
ペンシルバニアへ車でひょいと行ける距離、ということがわかった。
やっぱりNYかボストン？
でもきっと意図的にどこでもないような雰囲気にしているんだと思う。
いろんな細部にこだわりがあって、それも好き。
投票用紙は今日も届かなかった。
考えたくないけれど、今回は無理かもしれない。
