Tuesday.
Woke up 6:30, and left house around 7:15.
Went to Omark to rent a 15 footers truck at U-Haul, and then headed to Chelan.
We had to pick up our U box sent from Brooklyn.
At this point, we don’t really need it for anything, but we had to.
U-Haul at Chelan was at the middle of nowhere.
The sun was burning already before 10 am.
We used ramp and Dari, but it tooks us one hour to load the truck.
Then we straight back to the home.
Bought some food, and the heat was coming.
It was too hot to think straight, I needed to lay down in mobile home floor.
Around 4 pm, we decided to start unload the truck.
We put the ramp on the deck of the mobile home, and it was much easier.
Before 5 pm, we left to bring the truck back.
As they were doing the road work, the traffic was terrible. And it became the hottest.
Anyway, we made it, and now in our Toyota Camry, we went to HomeDepo for generator.
In order to survive the heat wave, we need to buy one for the AC.
There weren’t enough selection, so we went to the outdoor store by 97.
There, we found Honda generator. It was 1000$, but it will work very well for years.
Back home, we tried to visit M’s, but it was too late.
Bought Britos, watered my garden, and went to sleep.
What a long day!
火曜日。
６時半に起きて、７時過ぎに出発。
今日はNYから送ったコンテナの中身を取りに行く日。
もう２週間、旅を入れたらもっと、使わなかったものばかりなので、いらないと言えば、いらないのだけれど、引取の期限がきてしまった。
隣町のオマークで、１５フットのトラックを借りる。５メートルくらい？
それに乗って、１時間くらい行った、チェランという町までいく。
コンテナの引き取り場所は、とても暑かった。この時点で１０時前。
急いでトラックに荷物を積み込む。
なかなか苦戦して、でも１時間ほどで終了。
すぐに家まで戻る。途中、簡単なものを買ってお昼。
もう暑い。なんだかうまく考えられないくらい暑くて、サンルームの床で横になっていた。
夫は色々工夫したり、荷下ろしの準備をしていた。
４時ごろ、荷下ろしにかかる。
載せるよりも簡単だ。
５時前には終わって、トラックを返しに行くことに。
この道が、ちょうどラッシュアワーなのと、工事とですごく待たされた。
じりじりと暑い。
なんとか返却し、その足でジェネレイターを買いに行く。
この１週間の熱波をやり過ごすためにと、それから今後電気が通ってもいちおうあった方がいいだろうと判断した。
ホームセンターには目当てのものはなかったので、アウトドアのお店に。
そこでホンダのジェネレーターを買う。１０万円なり。
家に帰って、M家に行ったけれどもうみんな寝ていたので、
ブリトーを買って帰って食べる。
夜はぐんと涼しい。
水やりしてから寝る。
ああ、忙しかった。
