Friday.

I woke up 6:30 or so and went out to water the garden.

There was this skinny deer just standing there.

He was not with any family, and it was sad.

I found his footprint in my garden, but no vegetable was eaten.

Breakfast, laundry.

We bought the ticket for fall vacation.

I need to work on planning.

Dan made us breakfast burrito for lunch.

I really love this.

We had a nap, but my allergies was acting up and I couldn’t really sleep.

So I read my book.

We had big bowl of salad with lettuce from garden.

And grilled cheese with kimchi.

With my ketchup.

We watched “Apocalypto” (2006)

The way it’s in Mayan language and also almost all cast was Mexican and or Indigenous peoples is good.

But everything else was not very impressive.

I felt like they brought Western and modern view on to Mayan culture and played with it.

Wasn’t really good.

金曜日。

6時半ごろ起きて水やり。

しっかり丁寧に。

ふと見ると、お隣の空き地に痩せたシカが立っている。

この時期、1頭で行動しているということは、はぐれたか生き別れたか。

お庭の中に足跡を見つけたけれど、食べた形跡はなかった。

朝ごはん、洗濯をまわす。

秋の旅行のチケットを買った。

これからいろいろと計画を立てなくては。

お昼は夫がブレックファストブリトーをつくってくれた。

やっぱりおいしいな。

その後お昼寝したけれど、アレルギーが強く出てあまり眠れず。

そういう時もある。

本を読んだり、野球中継を聞きながらのんびり過ごす。

夜ごはんはお庭のレタスをたっぷり使ったサラダと、キムチーズホットサンド。

自家製のケチャップをつけて食べる。

夜、『アポカリプト』という映画を観る。

スペイン船団が到着する前のユカタン半島の部族の話。

全編マヤ語で、出演者はほぼ全員メキシコ人、 Indigenous の人たちであるところは評価できるし、2006年の公開当時は画期的なことだったのかもと思う。

内容は、マヤ文明に西洋的な解釈を持ち込んだだけで、暴力的だし、外からの興味をかき立てることが目的のように思えてあまり良いと思えなかった。
