Coffee.
Yogurt and strawberries.
I cut a lot of alfalfa today.
It was cloudy and not too hot.
There’s a road with lots of weed in between us and neighbor’s junk yard.
Alfalfa is growing big there.
Our yard is not lawn, well I guess it was at some point but it’s covered with weeds too.
And I like it that way.
After dandelions, now clovers are blooming.
And small yellow ones.
I made miso soup with potato, carrots, daikon, and mizuna.
Then sautéd some greens.
Dan made pork on the BBQ.
The miso soup was really good.
After lunch, I still worked on the alfalfa.
And some transplanting.
Lavender looks almost ready to pick.
Dan helped me to build another tomato support.
This time we used woods from old window and made structure.
I tied up tomatoes with garden twine.
We watched NBA final again.
Boston was leading the game, but lost in the last few minutes!
ゆっくり起きてコーヒー。
イチゴとヨーグルト。
今日もアルファルファを刻んでいく。
雲が出ていてそんなに暑くない。
隣の空き地との間にはいちおう砂利が敷かれた道路なのだけれど、
どこにも繋がってなくてだれも通らないから、雑草だらけ。
そこアルファルファも、他のいろんな草も生えている。
うちの庭は、一度は芝生だったのだろうけれど、いろんな草が進入して、雑多な草原になっている。
整った芝生よりもわたしはこちらのほうが好き。
タンポポが終わった今は、シロツメクサと、名前はわからないけれど黄色い小さな花が一面に咲いている。
お昼は、ミズナ、ニンジン、ダイコン、じゃがいものお味噌汁、
ケール、チャードとニンジン、ダイコンの葉っぱを炒め煮したもの、
夫がBBQで焼いてくれたポークチョップ、それとごはん。
お味噌汁がなんだかとてもおいしかった。ミズナの葉っぱをしっかり煮込んだのがよかったのかな。
お昼からも、同じ作業をしたり、ちょこちょこ植え替えたり。
ラベンダーがもうそろそろ咲きそう。
調べてみると、お花が少し咲いてから摘むのがよさそう。
楽しみだな～。
夫があたらしいトマトのサポートをつくってくれた。
廃材で簡単な支柱を立てて、そこに麻紐でくくりつけていく。
トマトが育つ度に麻紐に巻きつけていくという仕組み。
今日もNBAファイナル。
わたしたちはボストンを応援しているのだけど、
今日はずーっと接戦。
でもなんとかリードしていたのに、最後の数分で負けてしまった。
あーあ。
バスケを見ていると、漫画『スラムダンク』を思い出す。
熱心に読んでいたわけではないけれど、すきだったな。
