Thursday.
I woke up 6 am, and finished watering.
It started raining lightly, but I cannot rely on it.
Coffee, toast.
I went with Dan to distribute food in this town.
It was not hot, but the sun was strong.
I applied the sunscreen twice.
He drove me home afterwards.
Saige came running.
I did one laundry, and mowed the lawn.
Then I did some weeding.
There is this weed with yellow flower.
It spreads so much.
I don’t mind the dandelions, but not this one.
Today I pull a bucket full of this weed.
I heard the thunder and it started raining.
I hanged some clothes out anyway.
Then took a bath.
It stopped raining, and started.
Very confusing but I managed to dry all clothes.
I finished mending the jacket, packed all winter clothes.
Worked on culture center’s homepage.
People here use Facebook a lot.
Homepage might not be necessary, but i prefer any institution with proper homepage.
Dan came home late, tired.
We decided to eat out.
Sat at the counter in the Iron Grill.
No one else was there, so we asked to change the channel.
We watched Mets winning, and had good food.
When we were leaving, an old man told us “have a good evening!” with big smile.
I asked Dan why he was so happy, and he told me that watching happy couple makes people happy.
It was still bright outside.
Saige came straight from creek and splash on the porch.
We went to bed early, but woke up in the middle of night and hang out.
木曜日。
6時に起きて昨日の水やりの続き。
ぱらぱらと雨が降ってきたけれど、あまり信頼できないので続行。
コーヒー、トースト。
今日は町で食品配布のボランティア。
涼しいと思ったけれど、日差しはきつめ。
途中で日焼け止めを塗りなおした。
夫に家まで送ってもらう。
セージがもう外に出ていて遊びにきた。
洗濯機を回してから、お庭の芝刈り。
その後、草引きを。
名前はわからないのだけど、なかなかしぶとい雑草がある。
黄色い花が咲いて、綿毛で一気に増える。
たんぽぽならいいのだけれど、これは気になるので、見つけたら抜いておくようにしていた。
今日はバケツを持って集中して探したら、あっという間にバケツいっぱいになるくらい取れた。
小石が多いところが好きみたいで、お隣との間の砂利道にたくさん。
また時間があるときにやろう。
そうしているうちに雷がなりだして、ぽつぽつと降ってきた。
洗濯物を、木の影に少しだけ干して、のこりは室内に干す。
そのままお風呂。
上がったら、雨も止んでいたので、また外に干したけれど、
しばらくしたらまた降ってきた。
安定しないな～。
洗濯物はすぐ乾いたので大丈夫だった。
冬服の繕い物を仕上げて、これでぜんぶ仕舞えた。
それから、カルチャーセンターのホームページの作業も。
全ページをつくり直しているので、かなり時間がかかる。
このあたりはみんなお知らせとかをフェイスブックでやってしまうので、ホームページはいらないかもしれないのだけれど、でもやっぱりしっかりしたのがあるのと、フェイスブックだけなのとは印象がちがう。
夫が帰宅、つかれていた。
ちょっと休んで、外に食べにいくことにする。
いつもの町のレストラン。
わたしはルーベンというサンドイッチを、夫はチキンカツサンドイッチを。
カウンターに他に誰にもいなかったので、テレビのチャンネルを変えてもらう。
リモコンを渡してくれた。
テレビを持たないわたしたちは、ニューヨークでもよくこうやってスポーツを見たなと思い出す。
おいしく食べて、メッツの勝っているところを見れて満足。
帰り際に、途中からカウンターに座っていたおじいさんが満面の笑顔で、
「よい1日を！」と挨拶してくれる。
「おじいさん、すごくうれしそうだったね、なんでかな」と夫に聞くと、
「仲良くしているカップルを見てると、みんなうれしくなるんだよ」だって。
なるほど、なるほど。
帰宅してもまだ明るい。
セージがまた遊びに来る。
小川に入ったその足でポーチまできて、ぶるるっとしたので、笑った。
早めに寝たけれど、夜中に起きてすこしおしゃべりした。
