Thursday.

I worked at Brewster.

It was fuller day than last few weeks.

Also we had ER add-on.

I could go for a walk around two.

On the way back, an old guy asked me the direction to the clinic.

Which is right next to the hospital.

I was not sure if he got it right, so I walked fast to check his truck.

For some reason, he parked in the back, and tried to go inside from back door.

I was telling him that we should go to front, but then a staff opened the door and so I left.

Phew.

I got on 3pm bus and went to the library.

The second half of book is full of anxiety and drama.

It makes sense that the story had to end to meet the beginning but it still made me not easy.

I read 100 pages.

I don’t know if knowing the place (late 90s Japan) makes me easy to read this book or not.

I’m sure it does.

I have no idea how other English reader with no knowledge would read this book.

It was past 6 when I came home.

I ate a quick bite and went to the garden.

I did little bit of weeding.

Then I did my workout and took bath.

Read my book until I was too sleepy.

木曜日。

ブリュースターへ。

今日はひさしぶりに予定が入っている日。

お昼にはERの追加もあって、歩きに出られたのは2時前だった。

戻ってくる時、トラックを運転するおじいさんにクリニックの場所を聞かれる。

わたしの仕事先はホスピタルの方で、隣接してクリニックがある。

まっすぐ行って右手ですと言ったけれど、伝わったかどうか心配で小走りで追いかけた。

なぜかクリニックの裏手に駐車していて、裏口から入ろうとしていた。

表に案内しようとしたところ、職員さんが裏口を開けてくれたので、繋げてホッとする。

3時のバスに乗り込んで、図書館で読書して待つ。

後半に入って、ますます落ち着かない。

着地点が見えてるから、まぁそうなるのもわかっているけれど、それでも。

今日も100ページほど読んだ。

すごく読みやすいのは、舞台がよく知っている世界だということもあると思う。

そうではない英語読者がどう感じるかはわからない。

家に着いたら6時すぎ。

さっとご飯を食べて、お庭へ。

草引きをしながら見て回る。

それからワークアウトしてお風呂。

眠くなるまで読書。
