Tuesday, work day.
It was not cold anymore, but I wore cardigan over my scrub.
It was a busy day, but we managed well.
There was this 80 year-old caretaker who asked me so much questions.

When he started about China and Biden, I had to ask him back.

I know that’s just the way he’s communicating with anybody, and he’s not bad person.
He looked much happier when he was talking about his family.
After lunch, Robin shared this big cucumber with me.
It was juicy and very good.
I felt like summer.
Even though it was above 80, it was still cold inside van.
We had few cancellations in the afternoon, so we ended up on time.
Dan came to pick me up.
We didn’t hear Saige barking.
She walked towards us slowly with this pink ball in her mouth.
I received the ball, squish it and made some sound, and gave her back.
Then she just walked back to home.
She didn’t ask us no biscuits.
That was weird. She came to just show her ball.
It was too hot for her, later she ran to us asking biscuit.
The sunset was so beautiful.
We talked a lot and ate burrito.
We went to sleep early, but Dan woke up saying can i have one more?
He was dreaming about eating carrot, and then woke up and actually ate some carrot.
火曜日、お仕事。
今日は半袖のスクラブにして、でもカーディガンを羽織っていく。
スケジュールがぎっしりとつまっていたけれど、なんとか進んでいく。
患者さんのケアテイカーで、めっちゃおしゃべりな80代のおじいさんがいて、日本のこと、個人的なこと、すっごくいろいろ聞いてくる。
そのうちチャイナが、バイデンがーと言い出したので、牛は何頭いますか？と質問返し。
北隣の町で牧場を持っているらしい。
お父さんがイタリアからの移民。
家族の話をしだしてからは落ち着いた。
悪い人じゃなくて、こういうコミュニケーションのとりかたなんだろう、と伝わってくる。
連れてきた患者さんも家族ではなく近所の人。身寄りがなくケアすることにしたそう。やさしい。
お昼ごはんを食べた後、ロビンが持ってきたキュウリを分けてくれる。
皮を剥いて縦にきって、塩やドレッシングをつけて食べる。
日本のキュウリとちがって水分たっぷりで苦味が薄く、大きい。
ばくばく食べられる。
外はぐんぐん気温があがっているのに、バンの中は肌寒いまま。
午後はキャンセルが出たりいろいろして、結局時間通り終わった。
ロビンはしばらくここの病院に来ないので、挨拶して別れる。
夫が迎えにきてくれて、帰宅。
セージが吠えないな、と思ったら、
ピンクのボールを咥えてゆっくり歩いてきた。
あら、いいの持ってるね、と受け取って、ピーピー鳴らしてみる。
セージはボール投げ遊びをしないので、返すと、そのまますたすた家に帰って行った。
これまでになかったパターンでびっくり。
ボールを自慢しにきたのかな？
その後も家の前にのっそり寝そべっている。暑いのかもと思っていたら、
日が落ちかけたらいつもどおり吠えながらビスケットをねだりに来た。
夕陽がとてもきれい。
夫とたくさんおしゃべりして、買ってきたブリトーを食べる。
夜は早めに寝たけれど、トイレに起きたとき、夫が寝ぼけて、もうひとつちょうだい、という。
夢でニンジンを食べていたらしい。
そのままほんとうに起きてニンジンを食べ出したのでわらった。
