Friday.

It’s raining.


I wanted to go out and work in my garden, but the rain didn’t stop.

Then I found the leak around the chimney.

Oh no.

It will rain few more days.

I started sourdough, and went outside with light rain.

The fish line fence was broken.

I guess a deer tried to go in, and stuck with line, and broke it while trying to free itself.

Oh no.

They didn’t eat anything, and that’s good.

It was easy to fix.

I cut down overcrops in the tomato beds.

Hope I can transplant next weekend.

I found a dead bird under the pine tree.

A tiny robin.

I love this birds, and it was sad how light and small it was.

I buried it under a pine tree.

Dan made Kim-cheese for lunch.

We were thinking to go up to the fair, but didn’t feel like it.

Instead, we fixed the leak and I worked on weeding.

Dan tied a rope around the mower and went up on the roof.

He is careful, but it’s scary.

It was not as bad as we thought, and that’s good.

I took care of sourdough, and made potato soup.

I did lots of weeding.

My workout was core.

Not too bad.

The baseball was doing a rivalry week, and we watched Mets and Yankees, and Dodgers and Angels.

We went to bed little past 9.

金曜日。

雨の朝。

お庭であれもこれもやりたかったのに、止む気配がないなぁと思っていたら、

煙突の横が雨漏りしている！

あーあ。

壁伝いに少しだけだけど、あと2日雨の予報なのでこれは緊急案件。

サワードウを仕込んで、小雨になってきたところで待てずに外へ。

釣り糸の柵が一部壊されている。

きっとシカが絡まって、パニックになって引っ張ったんだろう。

ごめんよ、でも何も食べられてなくてホッとする。

簡単に修理できた。

トマトを植える場所には去年蒔いたマメが花をさかせている。

根元からザクザク切って、敷き詰めておく。

来週には植え替えできるかな。

松の木の下に、小さな鳥の死体。

ロビン、コマドリの仲間。

トトトと歩いてふと止まって、また歩きだす姿が可愛いし、卵がとてもきれいな水色。

地面の上で見るといつもよりずっと小さく見えた。

スコップの上になんとか乗せて穴に埋めたけれど、軽さが悲しかった。

お昼は夫が作ってくれたキムチーズ。

今週末は山の上でヒッピーのお祭りがあるのだけど、なんだか気持ちが上がらない。

今日はパスすることにした。

お庭の草引きと、屋根の修理で午後を過ごす。

夫が草刈機にロープを結んで命綱にし、屋根に上がって、コークという素材のタールみたいなものを煙突と屋根の間に塗っていく。

去年塗ったものは亀裂が入っていて、そこから雨が入ったのだろう。

わたしは下から見守っているだけ。

ちょっと怖いけれど、完成したらホッとした。これで1年大丈夫なはず。

サワードウの世話をしながら、ポテトスープを仕込む。

このところ気温が上がって、過醗酵になりがちなので、今日は早めに切り上げるつもり。

ワークアウトはコア。

これは楽なやつ。

野球はライバリーウィークと言って、ライバル同士の対戦。

ニューヨークはメッツとヤンキース、シカゴはホワイトソックスとカブスという具合に、同じ州のチームが対戦するのだけど、1チームしかない州もあるし、まぁ、ちょっとこじつけ感がないでもない。

逆にカリフォルニアは5つもチームを抱えている。

9時過ぎにはお布団へ。
