Thursday.
It was cloudy and cooler than yesterday.
After Dan left for work, I did laundry, and went to the garden.
I got seedlings yesterday, so I had to transplant them.
Few kinds of kale, asparagus, and mint.
Then I watered the garden well.
When I was in the garden, I saw a white truck driving down to our house.
First I thought it was a Fedex, but then I realized it was Dan’s work truck.
He stopped to drop some seedlings for me.
Basil and cucumber.
I transplanted basil in the tomato bed.
I also potted up my cucumber.
Still very tiny. But will grow bigger.
I studied BLS in the afternoon.
Tomorrow will be the skill check.
I hope it will go smooth.
While watching Youtube video, I also cooked dinner.
I made rice, miso soup, and cooked kale, and tofu.
Dan came home around 4.
We ate dinner while watching Mets game.
But we decided not to watch to the end because it felt like they would lose again.
So we went out to finish my hoop house.
When we were almost done, Dan went to get some tools and came back running.
He was shouting “Joe is back!”
Joe went to Arizona for winter and came back in one piece.
Saige wanted to go check, but I tried to keep her away as Joe has two big dogs.
He started his car and got ready to go home, but decided to stay overnight.
I was tired and went to bed early.
Mets won in the 11th inning.
木曜日。
雲も出てて比較的涼しい。
夫を見送って、洗濯機を回して、今日はまずお庭から。
昨日の食品配達で苗もいくつか頼んだので、その植え替えを。
ケール、アスパラガス、ミントなど。
オーガニックの苗で、とても元気だからうまくいくといいな。
それからお庭全体の水やり。
お庭でしゃがんでいると白いトラックがうちのほうへ来るのが見えた。
フェデックスかなと思ったけれど、なんだか違う。
夫が仕事の途中で寄ってくれたのだった。
各所のフードパントリーに配っている苗をわたしにもくれた。
バジルとキュウリ。わーい。
バジルは早速、トマトの畝に植え替えた。
室内で発芽させたキュウリを鉢上げ。
もらった苗と比べるととっても小さいけれど、これから大きく育ってくれるはず。
午後はBLSの勉強。
明日がスキルチェックで、多分大丈夫だと思うけれど、おさらいする。
途中から晩ごはんも作りながら。
ご飯を炊いて、お味噌汁を作り、ケールを炒め、豆腐に衣をつけて焼く。
夫は4時過ぎに帰宅。
少ししてすぐに晩ごはんにした。
メッツの試合を見ながら。
どうにも振るわないな～。
1点差で勝っていたけれど、最後逆転されるのが怖くて見ないことに。
外に出て、フープハウスの続きをする。
パイプをほぼつけ終わる頃に、道具を取りに行った夫が走って戻ってきた。
「ジョーが帰ってきた！」
半年間、キャンピングカーでアリゾナに滞在していたおじいちゃんカウボーイのジョーが無事に戻ってきたのだった。
うちの敷地の端に停めてあったトラックを取りにきたみたい。
セージが様子を見に行ったけれど、ジョーのほぼ野犬みたいな2匹の犬と喧嘩になったら困るので引き離していた。
結局ジョーはひと晩庭に泊まることにしたらしい。
はっきり言ってヨボヨボだし、車もボコボコで、帰ってくるかどうかと思っていたけれど、ちゃんと帰ってきた。
よかったよかった。
なんだかグッと疲れて、よく眠れた。
メッツは11回の延長戦の末勝ったとのこと。
