Sunday.
It’s cloudy day again.
Coffee, oatmeal.
I sow honey bee mix.
I did weeding around the trees I planted last year.
Then made wire cage for new trees.
Dan was working in his studio, and also called his uncle.
It’s Easter Sunday.
We don’t really celebrate it, but he was talking to his family.
We were supposed to go pick up trees at 3pm.
The creek by our house is called Buonaparte creek.
And it joins to Okanogan river.
The river runs along with town and highway, and we don’t usually go cross the river.
But today we did.
We climbed up the mountain, and there were orchards, houses and farms.
It looked totally different town, and it is still inside city, I guess.
We found the place easily as there were many people around the tent.
I didn’t know what to do, so waited until we can talk to the guy.
Art who comes to agency to sell his crops recognized Dan, and we talke a while.
It was his farm right behind it.
I asked the guy that I came to pick up my order, and he pointed at the bags.
I found my name and opened it to check.
Hazelnut and Nanking cherry were missing.
He told me that they were sold out, so I asked if I can get Saskatoon berry instead.
He gave me two of them.
We stopped at co-op and bought ravioli soup.
While Dan was heating up the soup, I soaked trees in the water.
The soup was really good.
It had plant based sausages in it.
Dan liked it too.
We took nap together.
Then I went out to plant trees.
Gooseberry, white currant, and High Bush berry.
Then Rugosa rose, and Buffalo berry.
I planted crabapple outside of east window of the kitchen, and redbud for south window.
I’m hoping they will grow and cover us from summer sun.
Took a short break, and decided to plant Saskatoon berry by the creek.
I planted them 5 feet apart, it will make hedge in the future.
By the time I finished planting all of them, and water, and put mulch, it was stormy outside.
I finally stopped working.
Dan made us rice, kale, and tofu.
I made note and counted trees I planted this year: 33.
We watched SNL on YouTube.
And went to bed.
It was a great weekend.

今日も曇り。
コーヒー、オートミール。
ミツバチ用の花の種を撒く。
去年植えた木の周りの雑草を引く。
しっかり育つまでは、まわりの雑草に負けないように世話が必要みたい。
それからワイヤーで柵をつくっておく。
夫はスタジオに入ったり、叔父に電話していた。
今日はイースター。
うちはとくになにもしないけれど、夫は家族に連絡をしていた。
午後3時に、木を取りに行くことになっていた。
うちの横の小川の名前はボナパルト川で、それはオカノガン川につながっている。
町の端を南北に、ハイウェイと並行して流れる川を渡る機会はあんまりない。
今日はそれを渡って、さらに山を登って行った。
まだ寂しい姿のリンゴ畑の合間を走っていくと、高台に草原が広がっていて、家も農場もある。
わー、家から10分くらいなのに、ぜんぜん知らない場所に急に来たようだった。ここもまだ町の中なんだ。
砂利道の先に農園があって、テントが立って、人が集まっていたのですぐにわかった。
おじいさんがひとりで切り盛りしていて、おばあさんたちがおしゃべりしていて、
どうしたらいいのかすぐにはわからず。
夫の仕事先に野菜を売りに来る、アートに会ったのでおしゃべりする。すぐ裏が彼のファームらしい。
しばらくしてから、おじいさんに注文していたものを取りに来ましたと声をかけると、
注文表のついた袋を指してくれた。
開けて確認して、とのことで開けると、ヘーゼルナッツとユスラウメがない。
そのことを伝えると、「昨日売り切れちゃったの」とのこと。
予約の意味とは、と思ったけれど、サスカトゥーンベリーがあったので2本代わりにもらった。
カナダに行ったときに知ったのだけれど、オカノガン族にとって大事なベリーだったみたい。
うちに1本ある、サービスベリー（ジューンベリー）とたぶん種類は同じかな。
コープでラビオリスープなるものを購入して帰宅。
夫が温めてくれている間、苗たちを水に浸す。
台所の窓の外に植える木の位置を決めた。
スープはとってもおいしかった。トマトベースで、大豆ミートのソーセージ入り。
ラビオリではなく蝶々型のマカロニが入っていて、つまり、ラビオリの脱構築スープってことかな。
夫もめずらしくスープにしたのだけれど、おいしいおいしいと言って食べた。
その後しばしお昼寝
起き上がって木を植える。
まずホワイトカラントとグースベリー（セイヨウスグリ）、ハイブッシュクランベリーを予定していた場所に。
それからハマナス、バッファローベリーを植え、その後台所の東側にクラブアップル（ヒメリンゴ）を、南側にレッドバッドという木を。それぞれ低木できれいな花が咲く種類。
数年後には窓の外で夏の日差しを遮ってくれれば最高なのだけれど、まだまだ先の話。
いったん休憩して、ちょっと考えてから、サスカトゥーンベリーを小川の側、敷地の一番奥に並べて植えた。
水をたっぷりやり、マルチを敷いて、柵を被せておく。
その頃には風がとても強くなっていた。
疲れた～。もう切り上げる。
夫がごはんを炊いて、ケールと豆腐をつくってくれた。
その間、お庭のノートに書きつけてチェックすると、今年だけで33本の木の苗を植えている。後10本ほど植える予定。
夜は昨日のサタデーナイトクラブを見たりしてから寝た。
よい週末だった。
