Monday.
Dan left for work early.
I woke up early too. Coffee, yogurt and banana.
It was cold in the morning.
I soaked Dan’s shirts and did laundry.
Went outside.
Today I supposed to receive trees so I dug holes beforehand.
After 4 holes, I was hot.
I made fence for the trees.
Finished laundry, and took bath.
After the bath, there was a huge box outside.
I opened, and soaked trees in water.
It says 3-6 hours, but one hour will suffice.
I made dinner first.
Fried rice with ham, paprika, green onion.
Potato salad with pickles.
Went outside, and started planting trees.
I planted blue berry first.
Then blue elderberry which is native to this area.
Saige was barking, Dan was home.
I continued planting.
Mountain ash, hawthorn are by the creak.
When I was planting Nanaimo peach, I heard weird sounds of bird.
There were two huge bird in the middle of my second garden.
I told Saige, and she ran to them.
They flew over to the top of trees.
Wow, what are they?
I thought pheasant, but might be goose.
Saige stayed by my side to protect me.
I gave her biscuits.
Debi came to door and told Dan that he can use their ladder.
We watched part of college basketball while having dinner.
It looks so different from the professional.
We were so tired, and fell asleep before 9, I guess.
月曜日。
夫は早朝に出勤。
わたしも起きてコーヒーとヨーグルトとバナナ。
またしっかり寒い。
片付けてワイシャツのオキシ漬け。
それから洗濯機を回す。
しっかり着込んで外へ。
今日は果樹の苗木が届くはずなので、そのための穴を掘っておく。
4つ掘ったらもう暑い。
ワイヤーメッシュで柵をつくっておく。
洗濯物を片付けて、お風呂。
上がったら苗木が届いていた。
とりあえず開封して水につけておく。
3−6時間くらい水につけるといいらしいけれど、陽が暮れてしまうのでパス。
晩ご飯をつくる。
ハムとパプリカと青ネギでチャーハン。きれいな色になった。
ピクルスだけいれたポテトサラダも。
ちょうど1時間ほど経ったので、順番に植えていく。
まずはブルーベリー。
去年一株がうまく根付かなかったのでやりなおし。
それからブルーエルダーベリー。この地域原産のエルダーベリー。
セージが吠えていて、見に行ったら夫が帰ってきていた。
まだ続きを。
マウンテンアッシュ、サンザシの仲間を2本、小川のそばに。
それからナナイモというカナダ産のモモをお庭の横に植えているときに、聞いたことのない鳥の声がした。
振り返るとでかい鳥が2匹、お庭のまんなかにすっと立っている。
びっくりして、小川のそばにいたセージを呼ぶと走っていって追い払ってくれた。
ふわぁと飛んで高い木のてっぺんに止まった。
キジかなとおもったけれど、ギースかもしれない。
胴体が丸いので、ツルより大きく感じた。
セージにご褒美のビスケットをあげて、作業にもどる。
その後は横にぴったりついていてくれた
デビーが、家を塗るのにうちのハシゴを使って、と言いに来てくれる。
夫としばらくゆっくりしてから晩ご飯。
今日はカレッジバスケットボール男子の決勝戦。少しだけみる。
これが全国で人気で、甲子園みたいな感じだろうか。
プロの試合と全然違うのがおもしろい。
ご飯食べたら眠くて、たしか夫は妹と電話していたけれどその後すぐに寝たと思う。
