Sunday.
We woke up before 7 and went to the steam room.
We stayed inside for only 10 minutes.
It felt so good.
Took shower, and packed everything.
A guy that we met in the elevator told us that there’s a terrace on the 4th floor.
So we went up and it was closed until 11.
Instead we went to get coffee, and walked down to the lake.
This lake is always so quiet and beautiful.
Back to the room, put everything on the cart, and went to the checkout.
We thought it will be packed in the last minutes, so we left early, but there was still people leaving.
Dads are working hard everywhere.
We passed the border no problem, and went straight to home.
Saige was walking from our house, and she was crying when she saw us.
She knew we were gone.
I unpacked everything immediately and Dan did some too.
I started laundry, and also unpack the package which was on the porch.
I had to go to the community garden to pick up my plants from Skeeter.
There he was, him and plants and lots of people.
I tried to find a package for me, but couldn’t so waited for him.
Everyone had a question for him, and while waiting, I got free herbs from local lady.
Finally, I had a chance to get his attention and he was “Yuko?”
He told me that there is another Japanese woman in this town.
I guess I saw her at the supermarket.
Dan was volunteering for him to get the horse going.
All plants looked happy with water.
Back home, I put all of them in the water, and started planting.
Dan helped me too.
We had soup and sandwiches from co-op for lunch.
Then we had a long nap.
Felt little cold in the house, so we put the heater.
In the evening, I went back to the planting.
Dan was fixing the trailer sink, and called his friend.
He made us quesadillas and salad.
It felt so long, but it was only 2 days and half, usual weekend.
I was so happy whole time, and everything was beautiful.
The best birthday weekend ever!
日曜日。
7時前に起きて、まずスチームルームへ。
10分ちょいだけ入る。
毛穴がブワーっと開く感じ、気持ちいい。
交代でシャワーを浴びて、荷造り。
エレベーターで会ったおじさんに、屋上のテラスが気持ちいいよと言われたので行こうと出かけたけれど、11時まで開かないと書いてあった。
あらま。
気を取り直して、コーヒーを買いに行く。
そのまま湖まで散歩へ。
いつきても静かでびっくりする。
夏は賑わうのだろうか。ボートとかあるし。きっとそうだろうな。
部屋に戻って荷物をカートに乗せ、最終チェックをして出る。
車に荷物を積んでからチェックアウト。
今日は混み合うだろうと思って、早めのチェックアウトにしたけれど正解だった。
すでに荷物を積み込む人たちで賑わっている。特にお父さんたちは大変そうだ。
無事に国境を超えて帰宅。
セージがうちの方から出てきて、クーンクーンと鳴いていた。彼女にしてはめずらしい。
いないことがわかってたんだね。
旅行後はすぐに荷解きするわたし。
夫もつられてちょっと開けていた。
そのまま洗濯開始。
届いていたネイティブの苗たちを開ける。
心配したけれど元気そうだった。
今日は注文してた木の苗も取りに行く日。
11時すぎ、夫に車を出してもらって向かう。
町のコミュニティガーデンに、スキーターがトランクに積んだ植物を広げて賑わっていた。
去年は袋にまとめてくれていたし、と探してみるけど見つからない。
スキーターは忙しそうだし、他のものを見て回る。
フリーのハーブの苗を分けている人から、マザーワートとセルフヒールをもらう。
ようやくスキーターを捕まえたら、「ユウコ？」と聞かれる。
この町にはもうひとり日本人がいて、名前はなんだったけ、ヨシコみたいな、と言いつつ、注文したものを集めてくれた。
その人のことは聞いたことがあるし、スーパーで一度見かけた人かもしれない。
メイアップルという、松の木の下に生える草をたくさんおまけでくれた。
夫がいないなと思ったら、スキーターに頼まれてホースの水を準備しに行っていた。
植物は根っこから抜いてあるので、水が来てとてもうれしそうだった。
帰宅後、早速水につけて、先に届いていたものから植えていく。
夫も手伝ってくれた。
ハナミズキを2種、ウィンターベリーとコーラルベリーを小川のそばに。
お昼はコープでスープとサンドイッチを買ってきて食べる。
それからしっかりお昼寝。
家の中が冷え切っているのでオイルヒーターを入れて。
起きてからもまた木を植え、木を植えた。
ブルーエルダーベリーはヨーロッパのものではなく、ここの辺り原産のエルダーベリー。
これで合計4本目。収穫が楽しみ。
夫はトレイラーの水道を修理してくれたり、友達と電話したり。
夜はサラダにケーサディーヤ。
なんだかとーっても長く感じたけれど、いつも通り2日半の週末が終わった。
時間ってほんとうにおもしろいな。
なんともみずみずしく膨らむような時間だったし、何倍にも長く感じられた。
大満足のバースデイ·ウィークエンドだった。
