Saturday.
Coffee and yogurt and banana.
Dan added apple for his.
The irrigation water was off again.
Oh well.
I thinned and transplanted lettuce and herbs.
It was cloudy but not so cold.
So I was outside all day.
Dan got corn dog for lunch.
I remember we called it American dog in Japan.
We rested little, but back to work.
I got a package from Japan.
Dan’s friend sent me books I ordered from my favorite bookstore in Tokyo.
They own a Mexican restaurant in Kanagawa.
We will go there next time we visit Japan.
I was so excited to have all Japanese books.
But somehow started with English one.
Dan made chicken for dinner.
Kale and rice too.
We watched “Old Enough” on Netflix.
In Japanese, the title is literally “first errands”
I wonder why they didn’t use that.
Maybe because kids going out for errands is not normal nor regal in US.
Then we did some research on our trip to Portland in the end of this month.
7 hours drive sounds not so bad after the cross country trip.
We are going to visit Dan’s friend and help her to clear the house.
She lives in Europe, so it might be last chance to see her.
We found sushi restaurant in the downtown Portland...

コーヒーとヨーグルトにバナナ。
夫はリンゴも足していた。
水はまた止まっていて、なんだかもう笑ってしまう。
いいや、また来週つかえるでしょう。
今日はハーブやレタスなどの植え替えや間引き。
曇っているけれど、そんなに寒くなくて、
なんだかずっと外にいた。
お昼は買ってきたコーンドック。
これは日本ではアメリカンドックと呼んでいたな、そういえば。
すこしごろんとしたけれど、また作業にもどる。
夕方に日本から荷物が届く。
いつもの東京の本屋さんの本を、ダンの友達が転送してくれた本が届いた。
お友達は、神奈川でメキシカンのレストランをしていて、
いつか行けたらとおもっている。
わたしの日本の知り合いともつながっていて、おもしろい。
日本語の新刊が何冊もあって、迷ったあげく、おまけで送ってくださった英語の本から手に取る。
夜は夫がチキンを焼いてくれた。
ケールとごはんと。
もうくたくたで、夜はネットフリックスに上がっていた、
『はじめてのおつかい』を見る。
英語の題名はOld Enoughで、なんでfirst errandsにしなかったんだろう？と思う。
子供だけでおつかいに行かせるのが違法なアメリカに合わせてあるのだろうか。
余計な紹介とか、コメントとか全部省いて、ひとりのおつかいがひとつのエピソードになっているのはいいアイデアだと思った。
一話１１分とかだし、どんどん見ちゃう。
その後、今月末に行くことになっているポートランドのことをいろいろ調べた。
車で７時間ならぜんぜん行けるね、となったのがおもしろい。
お寿司屋さんを見つけて、行けたらいいなぁとなっている。
本来の目的は、夫の友達で最初の奥さんが、家を売り払うので、
お手伝い兼会いに行くのだ。
ヨーロッパに住んでいるので、この機会を逃したら次いつ会えるかわからないし。
わたしは数年前にNYで会ったきり。
いろいろ調べていたら夜中になった。
