It was a beautiful sunny morning.
I had meeting with my friend in Denmark.
She and I can talk many things from private to political.
It’s always so much fun.
This time we talked about the differences of white European and white American.
They are really different.
Specially men.
White European men over 40 is, strangely similar to Japanese men, not aware of their privilege.
They are protected so well.
We concluded that if I move to Europa, I will have so much culture shock.
We talked over 2 hours.
Then I went outside to take care of my garden.
The air was cold, but sunshine warmed up everything.
I thinned Daikon, lettuce, spinach sprouts.
Well, actually, I am terrible at thinning. Instead, I transplanted them.
It would be nice if they survive it.
Dan made ramen for late lunch.
Yummy.
Then while we were resting, we heard ice cream truck.
This is something nostalgic for Americans, and I understand.
Even though we have ice cream in the fridge, and that is much better one than they carry,
we went out hoping to catch the truck.
We missed this time, but it’s ok.
We checked the mail box, and there was a box of seeds I was waiting for.
The cover crops.
It is something you plant in order to improve the soil.
I got several seeds.
Looking forward to see the results.
I made a rough plan for this year’s garden on my note.
朝からいい天気！
起きてすぐ、デンマークのお友達と電話。
すこしひさしぶりになったけれど、個人的なことから政治的なことまでいろいろ話せていつもたのしい。
お互いパートナーが白人なのだけど、アメリカの白人男性とヨーロッパの白人男性はぜんぜんちがう、という話で盛り上がった。
なんというか、アメリカの白人男性は、（もちろん全員ではなく傾向としてだけど）マジョリティとしての立場をわきまえている。
ヨーロッパの白人男性はすこし、日本の男性に近い。
絶対的な立場を長いこと当然のように保持してきて、何重にも守られ、疑問を持つきっかけも少ない。
たぶんこの先わたしがヨーロッパに移住したら苦労するだろうな。
たっぷり２時間喋って、それから外に出る。
空気は冷たいけれど、しっかりした日差し。
水やりをして、トマトの苗を日にあてたり。
それから、密集して生えてきた大根、レタス、ほうれん草の芽をすこし間引く。
間引くのがとても苦手で、難しいと知りつつ、近くに植え直していく。
もし根付いたらラッキーだ。
遅めのお昼は、夫がラーメンをつくってくれた。
おいしい～。
その後のんびりしていると、アイスクリームトラックのにぎやかな音楽が聞こえてくる。
これはアメリカ人にとってはノスタルジックなものみたいで、
家にまだアイスクリームあるし、そっちの方がおいしいのもわかってるけれど、
小銭を持って夫と一緒に買いに出た。
でも今回は見つからず。
まぁまた来るだろう。
代わりに郵便受けをチェックすると、待っていた種が入っていた。
カバークロップ。
収穫そのものよりも、土の質をよくする目的で植えるもの。
いろいろ試してみるつもり。
ノートを広げて、今年植えるもののなんとなく位置を決めた。
