yuko's diary 3/31/23

I woke up early, and started packing.

We had coffee and ate rest of bread and pastry.

We still had time before the check out, so we brought our suitcases to the car.

There is a culture center here, but on the homepage, they say it’s closed during winter.

But when we went to check, it was open.

So we decided to go in.

They spell Okanagan, not Okanogan here.

Also the people called themselves Syilx.

That is the same as Navajo means thieves in Spanish and there is their own word that simply means human.

There was one exhibition room in the culture center NK’NIP, and it continues outside.

It was like a little hike.

The air was so clean and different.

Only 27 miles up north, and plants and weather were almost same.

I think this was the sacred land.

When we climbed up to the top, we could see a thin streak of waterfall.

I thought this is it.

I talked to the God of this land.

We moved here, hope you are happy about it.

Back to the room, brought rest of bags, and check out.

It was Friday, and we saw more kids and golfers.

I’m glad that we are leaving.

We went to the bakery.

I returned the mag, and we got country white bread, and pan o chocolate.

We could pay from yesterday’s change.

Before we decided to stop in the town, we were already close to the border.

So we just went through.

The immigration officer was American, and very nice.

He asked us if we brought back other than good memory, and that was it.

We were home by noon.

It was suddenly so cloudy and chilly.

Only 27 miles and how come?

But when we check the weather up there, it looks like cloudy there too.

It was perfect only while we were there.

It was so cold inside house.

I had leftover pasta, and Dan made ham sandwich with bread.

Then we went under the cover and took nap, but it was still cold.

So I made fire.

Saige came to say hi.

The outside wasn’t that cold.

The house without humans are so cold.

Dan went to change the winter tire.

We had bread with cream cheese and everything else we got for dinner.

We weren’t hungry.

Watched comedy and had fun.

Staying home is fun, going on trip is fun.
