Wednesday.

I worked today too.

The chiller was off again.

We scanned all morning with just AC unit and water bypass.

As we moved all patients to the morning yesterday, it worked fine.

Apparently the tech guy was not serious about buying us lunch today.

My colleague was smart and brought her lunch anyway, but I believed him.

We walked down to co-op and got minestrone soup.

She got small one and I got big one and she paid mine too.

So we had time in the afternoon.

Other than few walks, I read a lot.

“Educating Black” part was over, and now it was about “Indian boarding school.”

I learned that it was literary a prison and became military, and then school.

“Kill the Indian in him, and save the man.”

It was disgusting and I know people are still suffering.

In the end of the day, we were telling the driver how to set up the water bypass.

After put the horse away, me and my colleague tried one more thing, and when I switched the breaker on, the chiller came back to life! Yay.

Back home, Dan made chicken sausage and pasta.

The new sausage is pretty flavorful.

My workout was 100 back rows.

Watching the late shows, and it was already late.

水曜日。

今日も仕事へ。

チラーは動かないまま。

クーラーと、ホースで冷やす方法でやるしかない。

昨日のうちに、午後の患者さんを全部午前に移動したので、無事に最後までスキャンできた。

昨日、お昼を奢ってくれると言った技術部の人は冗談だったらしく、結局現れなかった。

同僚は半信半疑で一応お昼を持ってきたけれど、わたしは信じたので何も持ってこなかった。

なんだい。

コープまで歩いて行って、スープを購入。

同僚は小さなカップに少し購入して、わたしの分も払ってくれた。

そういうわけで午後はしっかり読書。

『黒人を市民化する』教育の話が終わり、悪名高い『インディアン』寄宿舎の話になる。

ことの始めまで遡ると、刑務所が軍隊となり、学校になっていったことがわかる。

つまり、捕まえてきた『インディアン』を西洋式に教育し、市民にすることで、問題は解決するだろうというアイデアが生まれた。

“Kill the Indian in him, and save the man” （彼の中の『インディアン』を殺し、人間を救う）

開拓という名の民族浄化を続けるよりも、経済的で善良的だと謳われた。

子供を誘拐し、アイデンティティを殺す教育を無理矢理受けさせる。

今でもこの傷跡を生きる人がたくさんいる。

帰り際、ドライバーさんに、次の病院でホースを使って冷やす方法を伝えて、水道を止め、ホースを片付ける。

最後にもう一度試してみようということになり、同僚と二人でチラーを引き出し、あれこれし、ブレーカーを上げると、なんと動き出した！

わーい。直った直った。

帰宅し、夫がチキンソーセージを焼いてパスタをつくってくれる。

新しいソーセージはなかなかスパイスが効いている。

ワークアウトはバックロウ100回。

前屈みになって、ダンベルを両手に持ち、腰の高さまで引き上げる。

背中に効くらしい。

だらだらしているうちに遅くなってしまった。

慌ててお布団に入る。
