It was cloudy morning.
Raining a bit and chilly.
The sun really makes difference.
Coffee and bagel.
I checked the peppers, and some of them are already germinating.
wow.
All those frail onion babies are fine too.
I planted bitter melon today.
In Japan, this is from Okinawa, and as the temperature going up,
it got popular in main land.
We make green curtain with it. And it tastes good.
Without sun, I didn’t feel so good.
But I worked something I was thinking about for a while.
In the afternoon, my Israeli friend called me.
She’s now engaged and thinking about getting green card.
She has option to get it through work, though.
In any ways, it is annoying.
I tried to remember what I did 6 years ago, I hope it will help them.
I went to work in the garden in evening.
Tried to expand the main garden.
That area is so rocky and those alfalfa roots are crazy.
We had to chop them.
I got this beautiful zine called “glean zine” from a zine librarian.
When I submitted my zine to them,
they saw my address stamp is apple shape and thought I might be interested in.
What a sweet treat.
I didn’t know the word “glean” and all the information sounds very interesting.
On top of that it was had written...!
I love their hand writings and drawings.
We watched “Killing Eve”
It is getting very interesting.
くもりの朝。肌寒いし雨も降っている。
太陽が出ないとこんなに違うのかと思う。
コーヒーとベーグル。
昨日のペッパー類の種を確認してみると、もう発芽しているのがあった。
すごい。
それを土に植え替える。
タマネギのひょろひょろした苗も大丈夫そう。
今日はゴーヤの種を植えた。うまく育つかな。
食べるのはもちろんだけど、寝室の外、南側にカーテンをつくりたい。
なんとなく元気が出ないけれど、思いついたことをぽつぽつ進める。
なんだろう、この感じ。
ただ寒いのかもしれないな。
お昼過ぎ、友達から電話。ひさしぶりだ。
婚約して、これからグリーンカードを取るかどうか考えているとのこと。
仕事を通して取ることもできるからまだわからないけれど、と。
思い出しながら、わたしがしたことを伝えて行った。
役に立てばいいけれど。
夕方になってから外に出る。
メインのお庭の方を少しずつ広げていく。
この辺りは石が多いのと、野生のアルファルファがたくさん。
もう根っこは木みたいになっていて、抜くというより、切ってしまう。
夫も手伝ってくれた。
zineを送ったzine library の人から、果樹園や食べ物にまつわるzineが届く。
わたしの住所のハンコがリンゴの形をしているのに気づいて、もしかして興味あるかな、と送ってくれたのだった。
“glean zine”というタイトル。
“glean”は「拾い集める」という意味の単語で、
いろんな理由で収穫されなかったり、そのままだと無駄になるリンゴを集めて
必要な人に届ける活動のようだ。
最初の数ページしか読んでいないけれどすごいおもしろそう。
あと、ぜんぶ手書きなのがすごい。
文字がかわいらしくてよみやすい。いいなぁ！すごくうらやましい。
夜はまた”Killing Eve”を見る。
どんどん変になっていっておもしろい。
