We couldn’t sleep at all.
Around 5 am, we made another pizza.
Then we tried to lay down.
I woke up like 10 or so, and had coffee.
Dan was not feeling well. I made him herb tea.
I decided to plant some seeds.
It’s little earlier than the schedule I made.
I planted cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, and two kinds of green pepper.
Celery and lemon mint are finally sprouting!
They are very frail.
I had a slice of pizza.
Then went to work in the garden.
The snow was melting rapidly.
I decided to busting some sod.
As we are planning to expand my garden this year.
Now might be a good time to remove the weeds.
Although you can’t really dig deep yet.
I will work every day.
I made some soup with little of pork.
Then I made rice so we could pour the soup on it.
We watched “Mr. Jones”
It was about Holomodor.
Neither of us did not know about it but it was a man-made famine in Ukraine which was part of the Soviet Union.
It was sad and scary but I felt there are things like this everywhere in the world.
I was more interested in this Mr. Jones. The journalist who reported this.
So I read his wikipedia page and found out that he went to Japan and China later.
Then kidnapped and killed in Mongolia where Japan was occupied.
What a life.
昨日はほぼ眠れず。
朝方あきらめて、残りのピザを焼いた。
朝５時のピザ。
それからおふとんに入る。
普段通りに起きて、すこしぼうっとしたままコーヒー。
夫は調子が悪そうだったのでハーブティー。
今日は種を植えよう、と思いついた。
冬の間に決めておいた予定より少し前倒しだけど、
キャベツ、ブロッコリー、カリフラワー、それからグリーンペッパーを２種類植える。
モバイルホームのテーブルの上がいっぱいになってきた。
先月頭に植えたセロリとレモンミント（ハニーバーム）の芽が！
すごく繊細な芽。
ピザをひと切れ食べて、
今度はお庭のほうへ。
昨日よりまただいぶ溶けている。
今年は庭を拡大する予定なので、そうだ、土が柔らかいうちに表土を剥がしてしまおうと思いつく。手でもべりべりと剥がれるくらい。
一気にやると大変だから、毎日少しずつ進めることにした。
深掘りするとまだ凍っているから、畝をつくるのはまだまだ先だ。
お昼もなにも食べていなかったことに気づく。
夫のおなかの調子が悪そうなので、スープをつくる。
野菜を細かめに切って、それから豚ミンチを少しだけ足す。
味見してみたら、オムレツの具、という感じの味だったので、ごはんを炊いてごはんにかけて食べた。
夜、”Mr. Jones” という映画を見る。邦題は『赤い闇』？また下手な邦題だな。
スターリン政権下のウクライナでの、「ホロドモール（人工的大飢饉）」を潜入取材した記者のはなし。
ぜんぜん知らなかった。怖いとかより、こういうことが世界中であるんだろうな、という感想。それから情報量が少なかった時代の情報の価値を思う。
この記者、Gareth Jonesさんがとにかくすごくて、映画を見た後ウィキべディアを読んでいた。
一連のできごとのあと、日本と中国に行っている。それから日本が統治していたモンゴルで誘拐されて殺害されてしまう。
３０歳前。そんな人生あるんだな、としか言えない。
