yuko's diary 3/14/26

Saturday.

I woke up earlier than usual and started sourdough.

We got ready and left house around 10:30.

Today there was Repair cafe at community center.

It’s an ongoing event held by recycle center and people can bring broken tools and stuff, and they repair it for free.

Dan brought his oscillating saw which he only used several times.

We register in the front and they weigh the saw.

Fixed stuff = saved from landfill.

There were many tables and people who is fixing.

You can bring knives for them to sharpen.

We were told to go to this young man, and he wiggled saw little bit, and that was it, it was fixed.

Yay!

We went for grocery shopping and went home.

Dan made us fish tacos.

I might salted fish too much yesterday.

Oh well.

Then we went to Ace.

I want to improve my triangle park fence.

So we bought 4 of 7ft T-posts.

Then we pounded them into ground which was not easy.

But we managed it.

After that, we watched baseball and took it easy.

I couldn’t believe that Italy won again.

I like dark hoses.

I was nervous to watch Japan’s game.

They didn’t play well, and lost.

Oh well.

Dan made us ramen for dinner.

We are having good naps and good night sleep.

The temperature is down again, and our body is adjusting.

土曜日。

今日も早めに起きて、サワードウ生地を仕込む。

着替えて、10時半ごろ家を出る。

コミュニティセンターで行われている、リペアカフェへ。

リサイクルセンター主催の定期のイベントで、壊れたものを持っていくと無料で直してくれる。

夫が購入してから数回しか使わなかった電動ノコギリを持っていく。

受付で詳細を伝えて、ノコギリの重さを計る。

直せたもの＝埋立地に行かなかったものたちで、その記録を取っている。なるほど。

何人も直す人たちがいて、研ぎや繕いもしてくれる。

指定されたところにいくと、若いお兄さんが刃の付け根を調整してくれて、簡単に直った！

やった！

買い出しをして、ホクホクで帰る。

お昼はフィッシュタコスを夫がつくってくれた。

昨日のマヒマヒ、ちょっと塩が強すぎたな。

それでもおいしい。

それからホームセンターへ。

三角公園の鹿よけの柵を改善すべく、2mのポールを購入。

脚立にのって地面に打ちつける作業がなかなか大変だったけれど、なんとか4本建てた。

その後は野球を見てのんびり。

お昼寝もする。

イタリアがまた勝って、びっくりした。

ほんと、ダークホースだな。

日本の試合を見るのが怖かったけれど、途中で負け始めてからは落ち着いて見た。

残念だったけど、仕方ない。

夜ごはんは夫がラーメンをつくってくれた。

この週末はたっぷりお昼寝をしているけれど、夜も寝ている。

また気温が下がっているから、体が様子を見ている感じ。
