yuko's diary 2/24/26

Tuesday.

I was getting ready when I realized I got messages.

The trailer was not there yet, again.

This time, they couldn’t reach the driver. Hmm.

Anyway, I got to spend some time with Dan and that was nice.

By noon, I was told that we canceled whole day.

I was already packed my bento, so I ate it for lunch.

Dan made pizza for himself.

He liked my carrots from garden.

After Dan left for work, I started working in the garden.

The ground was frozen but it softened quickly.

I continued to till the rows.

I did 5 rows today, and that’s it.

The rest is for summer crops, so I will let cover crop grow some more.

I cut back some native flower and used them for mulch.

The garden is getting better everyday.

I went inside at three and decided to eat dinner.

I made myself sprout salad, broccoli, and red cabbage.

I love eating lots of vegetables always, but recently my body needs them more than usual.

It was still light outside and so I went back to work some more, but it got chilly quick.

I just cut back some more plants.

I did my workout and made hot water bag.

I finished reading “Project Hail Mary”

It smelled Hollywood bad.

There is nothing to feel or think about. It didn’t leave me anything.

It’s fine to watch a movie, but I don’t want to read it specially in English cause it takes me long time.

I ate some snacks 9:30 or so and heard coyote howling.

We’ve been hearing owl talking a lot, but not coyote.

The spring is coming.

I went to bed right after Dan came home.

火曜日。

いつものように起きて用意をしてから、メッセージに気づく。

またトレイラーが到着していないらしい。

今度はドライバーさんと連絡がつかないということで、心配だ。

とにかく、待機なので、しばらく夫とおふとんでのんびりした。

状況がわからないので、携帯を気にしながら過ごす。

お昼前には、今日はキャンセルになりそうと連絡がある。

お弁当を詰めていたので、そのまま食べる。

夫はピザを焼いて食べていた。

昨日収穫したニンジン、夫にも好評だった。

夫を見送ってからお庭へ。

朝のうちは霜が降りていたけれど、太陽も出ていてしっかり緩んでいる。

昨日の続きを黙々と。

今日は5本進めたので、全部で畝7本。

残りは夏野菜用の場所なので、もうしばらくカバークロップにがんばってもらう。

ネイティブフラワーの切り戻しをして、それをマルチがわりにする。

お庭が少しずつ整っていくのはうれしい。

3時に一旦休憩して、お腹が空いたのでもう晩ごはんにする。

スプラウトのサラダ、ブロッコリーの炒め物、紫キャベツのナムル。

野菜をバリバリ食べるのはいつでも大好きだけど、気温が上がりつつあるこの時期、いつもよりもっと野菜を食べたくなっている。

まだ日が高かったので外に出たけれど、ぐんと寒い。

もう少し切り戻しの作業をして終わり。

ワークアウトをして、湯たんぽをつくる。

おふとんで読書。

“Project Hail Mary” を読み切る。

うーん、最後までハリウッド臭がきつかった。

割り切ってからは楽しめたけれど、読後何も残らない。

映画で見る分にはいいけど、時間のかかる英語での読書には割りが合わない感じがする。

9時過ぎ、お腹が空いて夜食をつまむ。

外でコヨーテの群れが吠えていた。

ここ数日はフクロウがよくおしゃべりしていたけれど、コヨーテはひさしぶり。春だな。

夫が帰宅してすぐに寝た。
