Wednesday.
After Dan left for work, I did laundry.
Then I cut my hair.
First I cut my bangs and around the face, and the side.
Before taking shower, I cut back too.
It felt much better, although, I want to shave inside, but I guess I wait until it gets warmer.
I took bath.
And ironed some of laundry, and did the second round.
The shirt for Dan looked much better.
I packed it nicely and placed under the tree.
Packed the cap too.
I like how Americans love many little gifts rather than one big gift.
Also I like how some practical things can be gift such as underwear and socks.
It suits to the (maybe Asian) idea that we want to wear brand new underwear for new year.
I made butternut squash soup and chick pea.
Did more ironing.
I love my iron sets that my mother sent to me years ago.
So that I can iron while sitting on the floor.
Dan came home little early.
He brought home some cookies that I liked very much.
I guess I don’t like sugar, not sweetness itself.
We rested a while and had soup with toast and cheese.
We finished documentary series of FIFA corruption.
Oh my god, they are bad.
Living in US where people doesn’t care about football as much,
I forgot how much it means to people.
How people are crazy about it.
We can still enjoy the football itself, and at the same time being critical about the organization.
水曜日。
夫を見送ったあと、起きて洗濯。
それから髪を切る。
前髪と顔まわりを整えて、横と後ろも少し切る。
片付けてシャワーを浴びる前に後ろをさらに切った。
肩につかないくらいがやっぱりしっくりくる。
ああ、さっぱりした。
ほんとうは内側を剃りたいけれど、暖かくなるまで待とうかな。
お風呂にもつかってあたたまる。
1回目の洗濯が終わっていくつかアイロンがけ。
2回目もまわす。
書いなおした夫のシャツはちょうどよさそうだった。ほっとする。
プレゼント包装してツリーの下に置いておく。
ニットキャップも別で包装。
たぶんだけど、小さくてもいいからたくさんプレゼントがあるのがうれしいみたいだ。
肌着の代わりにしている白Tシャツも買い足す。
こういう実用的なものもプレゼントにすごく喜ばれるところが好き。
新年の前に新しい下着を用意したい気持ちにもぴったりくるし。
お昼からは、バターナッツスクワッシュのスープをつくる。
横でヒヨコ豆（ガルバンゾ豆）も炊く。
2回目の洗濯物は乾燥の途中で止めて、取り出してアイロンがけするものと分ける。
アイロンがけはずっと好きな家事のひとつ。
ずっと前に日本から送ってもらったアイロン台を今も使っている。
座ってかけられるように。
夫は少し早めに帰宅。
先日と同じ穀物フリーのクッキーをもらってきてくれた。
これはパクパクたべちゃう。
わたしは甘いものが苦手なのではなくて、砂糖が苦手なのかもしれない。
果物とか好きだし。
すこしゆっくりしてからスープを温めて食べる。
パルメジャンチーズ、トーストと一緒に。
ちょっとホットソースをかけてみたり。
FIFAの汚職についてのドキュメンタリーを見終わる。
ここまで堂々とやっているのすごいな。
別の番組だけれど、汚職のもろもろを見たときに、オリンピックのことかな？と思ったほど似ている。
そして出てくるのがおじさんばっかりだな。
サッカーに興味の薄いアメリカに住んでいると忘れがちだけれど、世界中のサッカー熱ってすごいものがあるなと思いだした。日本もそうなのだろう。
競技そのものやそのまわりのドラマを楽しみつつ、問題にも目を向けることが大事だと思う。
