Monday.
I woke up when Dan was leaving for work.
Coffee.
One email, two letters.
Cleaned the kitchen.
I took hot bath, and waited until my hair is dry.
Then went outside.
When I got to the post office, there was a line.
The old lady was working on, but she doesn’t really care.
I gave up and went shopping first.
I tried to find watercolor paper, but couldn’t find anywhere.
When I came back from co-op, there was the young lady working, and now the line was moving.
It was only $5 or so to send small package to San Diego.
I love USPS. The last good one in this country.
The road was messy, but it kept melting, and that’s good.
I think I will be ok tomorrow morning.
I got an idea to break my little sketch book for Christmas cards.
So I did.
I made 8 more, and wrote addresses.
Many of my friend moved this year.
While I work on the card, I started cooking dinner.
I made rice and miso soup with onion, potato, sweet potato.
Then I cooked carrots, and tofu.
Dan came home around 4:30.
We rested for a while, and then had dinner.
We did lots of stretching.
When I’m not working in the garden, I have to remember moving my body.
We went to bed late.
月曜日。
夫の出勤に合わせて起きる。
コーヒー。
メールを1通。
手紙を2通。
気になっていた諸々の手続きなど。
部屋も片付けて、スッキリ。
お風呂につかってひと息。
髪が乾くまで待って外へ。
郵便局へ姪っ子のプレゼントを持って行ったら、長い列ができていた。
いつものおばちゃんは、全然気にしていない様子。
10分経っても1人も進まなかったので、さすがだと思いつつ諦めて先に買い出しへ。
水彩画用の画用紙を探してみるけれど、やっぱりどこにもなさそうだった。
コープでいつものものを買って、郵便局へ戻ると若い職員さんが捌いていてちゃんと進んでいた。
サンディエゴへ小包、一番安い便で5ドルほど。
アメリカの郵便局は、この国の最後に残った善意な気がする。
道は溶けた雪でぐしょぐしょだった。
明日朝、凍るかなぁ。
このまま寒くならなければ大丈夫かな。
帰り道に思いついて、画用紙の自由帳をバラして使うことに。
8枚ほど追加で作り、6枚宛先をかく。
今年は引っ越した友達が多い。手帳の住所録を更新しなければ。
途中から料理しながらの作業。
ご飯を炊いて、お味噌汁。タマネギ、お庭で採れたジャガイモとサツマイモ。
ニンジンのきんぴらを多めにつくって、豆腐ステーキ。
なんだかうまくカリッとできなかった。まぁいいや。
夫は4時半ごろ帰宅。
しばらくごろごろっとしてからご飯。
夜たくさんストレッチした。
お庭で作業がなくなると一気に動かなくなるので意識して動かす。
だらだら遊んでいたら寝るのが遅くなった。
