yuko's diary 12/30/25

Tuesday.

As I was off today, I slept in.

It was sunny outside.

I made a big lunch.

Potato and onion miso soup, brown rice with lentil, tofu steak, kale, and red cabbage.

The tip of old chopstick is finally broken.

Those are the ones I bought when I moved in with Dan.

10 years ago.

After Dan left for work, I washed bed sheets.

Then made kindlings, and walked to the library.

I returned books, and checked out some.

I stopped at co-op, supermarket, and post office.

I bumped into the scheduler from the hospital, and also just got a text from my boss saying that we can operate tomorrow.

So I told her so.

Back home, I harvested little fire wood out of branches that Dan cut down.

It’s cold, but not too cold.

I also worked on my spoon.

I ate leftover for dinner.

I did my workout, and did jumping rope.

The sunset was crazy today.

Small clouds were blue and dark pink, and it was almost scary.

When I got out to take out the trash can, the moon was bright.

I can see the shadow of trees, but still can see lots of stars. So beautiful.

I did some knitting.

Made fire.

When Dan came home, we chatted for a while, but I had to go to bed early.

火曜日。

今日は休みになったので、のんびり起きる。

外はいい天気。

時間があるのでしっかりしたお昼ごはんを作った。

ジャガイモとタマネギのお味噌汁、玄米とレンズ豆のごはん、豆腐ステーキ、ケール炒め、紫キャベツのナムル。

おいしい。

お箸の先が折れてしまった。

夫と同棲を始める頃に買ったから、ちょうど10年。よく働いてくれたと思う。

夫を送り出して、シーツの洗濯。

焚き付けをつくってから歩いて図書館へ。

返却と、頼んでいた本の受け取り。

スーパーとコープ、郵便局にも寄る。

郵便局で病院の予約科の職員さんにばったり、ちょうど上司から明日は仕事ができそうと連絡が来たので、その旨伝える。

帰宅してから、夫が切ってくれた枝の、細かい部分を薪にしていく。

寒いけれど、少し緩んで、外にいられるくらいの温度。

その後スプーン作りを少し。

夜ごはんはお昼の残り。

ワークアウトして縄跳びもする。

ふと外を見ると、ものすごい夕焼け。

鱗雲に夕陽が当たって、濃いピンクと青とのコントラストがすごいことになっている。

思わず外に出て写真を撮った。

夜は編み物をしてのんびりする。

暖炉に火を入れる。

ゴミ出しを忘れていて慌てて外へ。

木の影が見えるくらい明るい月なのに、それでもまだしっかり星が見えるくらい澄んでいる。

夫が帰宅して少しおしゃべりしたけれど、早めにおふとんに入った。
