I didn’t sleep well.
I woke up to turn the heater on..
Dan made coffee and bagel with cream cheese.
I finished darning my shirts today.
Using thin organic cotton clothes,
I covered inside the collar. It turned out great.
I made pumpkin soup for dinner.
Garlic, leek, celery, cabbage, carrots and pumpkin.
Those celery and carrots didn’t last well.
While cooking the soup, we went for a little walk.
We went to the mail box, and walked around our property.
We haven’t seen Walt the wolf for few days,
but today we found his footprints and follow it.
It’s a good exercise to walk on the snow.
Dan made carbonara for lunch, and we took nap.
I mean he did.
I couldn’t sleep, so I was working on the shirt and soup.
We had soup and bread for dinner.
It was delicious and thick without milk.
We watched a movie and went outside to put garbage cans.
On the way, Dan found a suspicious car parked by the creek.
It was technically on our property, so he asked them.
A lady came out of the car and said that they had problem with gear sift but will be fine.
She asked Dan to come check one hour later.
It was strange.
We watched them from inside house.
Then after a while, they started moving forward and back.
It was clear that they were stuck in the snow.
Dan went to check on them and at the same time, our neighbor Debbie came out with light and shovel.
With our help, the car made it and ran off.
At first we thought it was kids getting high or something, but they were middle age.
Hmm, weird! But I’m glad nothing bad happened.
We watched a short documentary to relax, and stayed up late anyway.
夜中起きて暖房を入れたりしていたので、寝不足。
夫がコーヒーをいれてくれた。
ベーグルにクリームチーズ。
今日はシャツを仕上げてしまう。
薄いオーガニックコットンの布を裏にあてて縫っていくのだけど、
襟の内側はもう全体を包むことにした。
しっかりしていい感じになった。
かぼちゃのスープをつくる。
今回はにんにく、リーク（長葱ににている）、セロリ、にんじん、キャベツ。
サラダ用に買ったセロリとにんじんがあっという間にぐったりしてしまったのでぜんぶ使う。
煮込んでいる間にふたりで散歩に出た。
郵便箱を見にいって、そのまま庭をぐるりと。
しばらく見かけなくて心配していたオオカミのウォルトの足跡を見つけてついていってみる。
やっぱり丘の方へとつづいていた。
雪の上を歩くのはけっこうな運動になる。
お昼は夫がカルボナーラをつくってくれておなかいっぱい食べた。
その後お昼寝。
わたしは寝られなくて、繕いものや料理をしていたけれど、
夫はしっかり眠っていた。
夜ご飯はスープとパン。
今回もミルクなしでもしっかりした味になった。
それから映画を見て、ゴミ出しにふたりで外に出たところ、
うちの敷地のちょうど角のあたりに車が停まっていた。
小川のすぐそばで、いままで一回も車を見たことがないところ。
ライトがついていないので気づかなかった。
びっくりして、それから夫が声をかけにいった。
女性が出てきて、大丈夫、ちょっと車に問題があるけど、１時間くらいしてまたここに居たら声かけてと言われる。なんだか変だ。
とりあえずいったん家の中に戻って、様子をみる。
エンジンはついているから、寒くはないのだろう。時々、ブレーキに足をかけるのか、ライトが灯る。
少し間をおいて、車が前進とバックを繰り返しはじめた。ああ、これは雪に埋まってるんだな。
タイヤ、思いっきりスピンしている。
でもなんでさっきそう言わなかったんだろう？と思いつつ、夫がまた出ていった。
向かいのデビーもライトとスコップを手に出てくる。
結局、後ろから押して無事に脱出した。
デビーによると、３時間くらい前にも声をかけたらしい。
うーん、変だったけど、まぁなにもなくてよかった。
あんまり落ち着かないから、また映画を見て、しばらくだらだらしてから遅くに寝た。
