yuko's diary 12/22/25

Monday.

We woke up early and went to Brewster.

Dan drove me down to the bus station in the dark.

It was not as busy as usual, but some patient was really late and we had to call clinic to ask the name of implant.

Some people are not fully working but some are working as usual.

I got on the 3pm bus.

The library was closed on Monday, so I went to get matcha.

They also got some clothing and small stuff, people came to shop for last minutes gift.

I stopped at another store, and they were crowded too.

People are really into holiday shopping.

I only spend $30 some for Dan, and rest are hand made.

I also love gift giving, but I love making stuff more.

When I got home after the second bus, it has been 12 hours since I left home.

Phew.

I ate leftover soup for dinner.

And managed to do the workout.

I made fire and that’s it.

When Dan got home, we talked a lot.

Tomorrow I work at the usual place.

月曜日。

今日は早起きしてブリュースターへ。

暗い中夫が運転してくれた。

そんなに忙しくなかったけれど、すごく遅れてくる人がいたり、インプラントの名前の問い合わせをしたりしてなんだかイレギュラーだった。

クリスマス直前で浮かれて仕事が上の空の人と、全然通常運転の人とはっきり分かれる時期。

3時のバスに乗り込む。

月曜日は図書館が空いていないので、カフェで抹茶ラテを飲んで本を読んだ。

雑貨が置いてあるので、クリスマスプレゼントを買う人たちで賑わっていた。

その後ちょっと覗いた服屋さんも混んでいる。

はー、やっぱりクリスマスに消費する文化は根強いなぁ。

わたしは夫に買ったのは新品の本一冊と、古本だけ、全部で30ドルちょい。

周りの人へのプレゼントも全部手づくりでできた。

贈り物をする楽しさはよくわかるから、頭ごなしに否定はしないけれど。

手づくりの方が楽しいよ、とは思う。

2本目のバスに乗って帰宅したら、朝出発してからちょうど12時間経っていた。

疲れたー。

昨日の残りのスープで晩ごはん。

ワークアウトもなんとかこなす。

その後は暖炉に火を入れてのんびりした。

夫が帰宅しておしゃべり。

明日は普段の仕事なので、ちょっと気が楽だ。
