Sunday, winter solstice.

Sun was not out today.

I started sourdough.

Then I started making pumpkin soup.

I went to pick up carrot like yesterday, but the ground was completely frozen.

I added barely, lentil, and tofu sausage to the soup.

Good one.

After Dan left for work, I did laundry.

Then made some kindlings.

I was little nervous about sourdough.

I thought it will rise late, but then I missed the timing the other day.

I dropped off Christmas gift at the neighbor’s place in the morning.

They were not home, so I left it at the door.

After I finished one sourdough, I brought to the second neighbor.

At the same time, a red hair boy with his dad came and sang a Christmas song.

It was not good or anything, but it was still beautiful and I almost cried.

She gave me eggs.

The second sourdough went well! Phew.

I brought to it to the closest neighbor.

Saige was laying around in the dark, in the cold.

We chatted a while.

All of my neighbors are old, and so we usually talk about health.

It was a nice day to talk with them.

The sun came out for a little bit right before setting.

It was so beautiful.

I had soup and toast for dinner, and did my workout.

I cut my hair and took a bath.

As I made kindling in the morning, it was easy to make fire.

When Dan came home, we talked while, and I went to bed.

日曜日、冬至。

今日は太陽はなし。

朝からまたサワードウを仕込む。

それからカボチャのスープを煮込む。

ニンジンを採りにお庭に出たけれど、地面が凍っていてダメだった。

昨日は採れたのにな。

大麦、レンズ豆、豆腐ソーセージ入りのスープ。

おいしい。

夫を見送って洗濯。

それから焚き付けをつくったりしながら、サワードウの発酵のタイミングを見極める。

寒いからか、発酵が弱いと思って油断したら発酵しすぎるし、失敗しすぎてちょっと慎重になっている。

朝のうちにご近所にひとつ届けに行ったけれど、教会に行ってる時間だったのか、ご不在。

ドアのところに置いておく。

ひとつ目のパンが焼けた後、3軒となりのお家へ届けにいく。

ちょうど同時に、赤毛の男の子とお父さんが着いて、クリスマスの歌を歌って帰っていった。

クリスマスキャロル？歌が上手いとかではないけれど、なんだかすごく美しかった。

ちょっと立ち話して、お暇する。

卵をもらった。

ふたつ目のパンが焼けてから、一番近くのお隣へ。

セージは外に寝転がっていた。寒くないらしい。

ここでもちょっとおしゃべり。

うちのご近所はお年寄りばかりだから、健康の話ばかりだけど、なんだかとても良い時間だった。

陽が沈む前に少しだけ、雲の合間から太陽が顔を見せてくれた。

あんまりきれいで、写真を撮りに外に出る。

お昼のスープとトーストで晩ごはん。

それでもまだ余ってる。

ワークアウトしてから、少し散髪して、お風呂。

昼間に焚き付けをつくっておいたので、今日は暖炉に火を入れるのが楽だった。

夫が帰宅して、少しおしゃべりしてからおふとんへ。

明日は早起き。
