Saturday.
We had time this morning, so I woke up late.
And did laundry.
Dan made ham and egg for breakfast.
We prepared and left before noon.
But there are many people already. Wow.
It was weekend, and there are more kids.
A girl told me that cat in Japanese is gato.
I’m pretty sure that’s Spanish.
We got Buffalo’s soup.
Today it was corn chowder. Yum.
People would ask me, “did you make this?” or “what is it?”
When I say porcelain, some people simply don’t get it.
I asked my neighbor if my pronunciation was bad, and she said no.
She said some people just don’t know that word. Hm.
The other interesting thing is when Dan said same thing, they would pretend they understand.
Of course some part is results of my broken English, but oh well, power of white man.
Some pieces were bought by people really liked them, and that made me happy.
It got quiet by 3:30, when the sun was going down.
We chatted and work on our pieces.
Before 5, people started packing up.
Dan came to help me.
My neighbor gave me this beautiful herb oil, and I already packed my ceramics, so I gave her my choker I was wearing.
Oh it was a lot of work, but fun!
Dan made me ham sandwich with goat cheese and it was great.
We called his sister, and chatted.
I couldn’t go to sleep again.
After all those interaction, I need long time to process and calm down.
I guess I was up until 1.
But it was great.
I made more friends here, and that felt good.
土曜日。
今日は12時のオープンに行けばいいので、のんびり起きてコーヒー。
洗濯機を回す。
夫がハムとたまごで朝ごはんをつくってくれた。
11時からささっと準備して出かける。
着いたらもう賑わっていた。あらま。
週末ということもあって、子供も多い。
女の子に、猫は日本語でガト！と言われた。
うーん、それはスペイン語だと思うよ。
様子を見計らって、今日のスープをいただく。
コーンチャウダー、具がたっぷりでクリーム少なめでとてもおいしい。
よく聞かれる質問は、あなたがつくったの？と、これなあに？
Porcelain 磁器と言っても伝わらないことがあるので、わたしの発音悪いかな？と隣の人に聞いたら、そんなことない、知らない人も多いと思うとのこと。
なるほど。
それと、同じことを言っていても、夫が言うとわかったような顔になる人もいる。
なんだかなぁと思いながらおもしろかった。
いくつか気にって買ってくださるひとがいてとてもうれしかった。
3時過ぎ、日が傾く頃にはだいぶ落ち着いて、おしゃべりしたり、組紐を編んだりしていた。
5時で終わりで、みんなだいぶ前から片付け始めた。
夫も戻ってきて手伝ってくれる。
お隣の人がハーブオイルをくれた。わたしも何かあげたかったけれど、もう梱包してしまっていたので、つけていた組紐のチョーカーをあげた。
ああ、疲れたけれどたのしかった！
帰宅するとすぐに夫がハムサンドイッチをつくってくれた。
ゴートチーズが入っていて、大人の味でおいしい。
キャロットスティックと、わたしのピクルスと一緒に食べる。
夫の妹と電話して、その後はダラダラ。
今日もなかなか寝付けなかった。
いきなりたくさんの人と関わると、クールダウンに時間がかかる。
でもいい体験になった。
ここの人たちとまたひとつ繋がった感じがする。
