Saturday.
I woke up slowly, and had coffee.
It was snowing whole night, and still going, covered everything.
It is not heavy wet snow, but it doesn’t look like stop anytime soon.
Dan was calling his friend and cooking.
I was watching France vs. England.
Dan made hushed potato and warmed up the Brussels sprouts from the restaurant.
We went outside to clear some snow on the roof.
Using a board, trying to get as much snow as we can.
I also plowed little bit.
It was like 35F, and I told Dan if we make fire, it will melt snow.
And it did.
Lots of snow fell off of the roof.
I felt it was not cold.
I am getting used to this winter.
The snow stopped by the night.
Dan made us ramen.
I did knitting.
Our niece received my cap, and she liked it.
She tried to say “Happy Christmas, Dan and Yuko!” and it became Dena, and it was so cute.
The cap fits perfectly fine, and I relieved.
We watched “C’mon, C’mon.”
Kids are so funny.
Those phone calls between the sister and brother sounded just like Dan and his sister.
At the scene that they took off taxi in NY,
I spotted the place.
It was right near our old station and the coffee shop I went often.
土曜日。
のんびり起きてコーヒー。
ずっと降っていたみたいで、しっかり積もっているし、まだ降っている。
細かくて軽い雪だけれど、なんだか、全然やまなさそうな強い意志を感じる。
夫の友達と電話しつつ、フランスとイングランドの試合を見る。
もうPK戦まで行かないとものたりないような不思議な気持ち。
夫がハッシュポテトと、昨日の残りの芽キャベツを温めたものを出してくれた。
なんだか屋根の雪が心配になってきて、まだ降っているけれど外に出る。
板を使って、届く範囲の雪をおろす。
ついでに雪かきもした。
気温は2度くらいなので、これで薪ストーブを焚けば、屋根裏と煙突が暖まって落ちるんじゃないかとやってみるとその通りだった。
ドサドサと落ちていく。
氷点下のラインを上回ることは決定的なんだな。
それにしても、ひさしぶりに寒くないと思うじぶんにもびっくりした。慣れてきている。
その後も降り続いたけれど、夜には止んだ。
お昼は夫がラーメンをつくってくれて食べる。
後は編み物をしたり。
サン・ディエゴの姪は無事キャップを受け取って、とても喜んでくれていたよう。
“Happy Christmas, Dan and Yuko!”といっている動画が送られてきたけれど、
Dan and Yukoがダナになっているtake 1もついていてかわいかった。
よかった。よく伸びるし、サイズも問題なさそうだった。
今日は『C’mon, C’mon』を見る。
フォアキン・フェニックスの白黒映画。
子供っておもしろいな、いろんなことを考えた。
主人公の兄妹の電話のやり取りが、夫と妹みたいで笑えた。
NYの道でタクシーを止めて降りる場面、住んでいた駅のわきで、
たまに行っていたコーヒー屋さんの近くだった。白黒でもすぐにわかった。
