Happy Thanksgiving!
It was raining in the morning, but while we were cooking,
the sun came out.
We made cranberry sauce, mash potato, Brussel sprouts, turkey breast, and gravy sauce.
I made first two, and then Dan took over.
Turkey was huge.
At noon, we ate whole plate, and went into nap immediately.
We woke up 2:30, and called Dan's sister.
They were talking about their brother, Netflix show, and cooking.
Sometimes they sounded angry, but I'm sure I sound this way when I talk to my family.
Only I can understand their language but he doesn't.
Then he called his uncle. One of the last Weiners.
He's so funny and salty 79 year old.
Thanksgiving for me is a day to call your friend and family.
And massive cookings.
That's it. I don't support the story of thanksgiving, of course.
But I am just thankful that we have healthy life together.
Our 6th thanksgiving was great!

アメリカのお正月のようなもの。
珍しく雨だなぁと思っていたら、料理しているうちに陽が指してきた。
常に晴れるところもまさに元旦みたい。
まずクランベリーソースからつくる。
ソースというか、ジャムのようなもの。クランベリーがぽんぽんと音を立てながら弾けるのが楽しい。
次にマッシュポテト、そこからは夫の担当。
ふたりとも作業するけど、リードと補助が入れ替わる感じ。
ブリュッセルスプラウト（芽キャベツ）とベーコンを炒めたもの。
ターキーは胸肉だけ。野菜や野菜スープベースと煮込む。
１２時には出来上がって、食べたらもう眠い。
すぐにお昼寝して、２時半まで。
起きたら青空が見えていた。
夫の妹に電話する。
義理の両親が明日訪ねてくるというので、夫が感染の危険があるからやめろと怒っていた。
妹もわかっているけれど、止められないのだろう。
こんな感じの家族が多いんだろうな。
兄のことでまた口論してたと思ったら、料理やテレビのことで笑ったり。
家族ってなんだろなー。まぁうちもこんな感じなんだろう。
ただ、わたしは彼の方の言葉が理解できるだけ。
その後、叔父に電話。７９才。またこの人もシニカルでおもしろい。最後のワイナーのひとり。
サンクスギビングの始まりは、まぁ、嘘の塊だ。
ネイティヴアメリカンの人たちの側の物語はどうなるのか、と毎年議論になる。
わたしにとっては、料理して、親戚や友達に電話する日。
それだけでいい。
夫と六回目のサンクスギビングも楽しく過ごせました。
